Description:Position PurposeMercy Care Atlanta is seeking a compassionate and experienced
Addiction Psychiatrist to provide trauma-informed outpatient psychiatric care and medication management for underserved and vulnerable populations. This physician will play a key role in delivering integrated behavioral health services, supporting patients with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, and advancing Mercy Care's mission of providing exceptional care to all, regardless of income or circumstance.
What You Will Do- Provide outpatient psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and medication management for adult patients.
- Deliver trauma-informed care to individuals experiencing mental illness and substance use disorders.
- Manage Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), including buprenorphine and naltrexone therapies.
- Collaborate closely with primary care providers, behavioral health clinicians, and interdisciplinary care teams in an integrated care setting.
- Provide consultation, mentorship, and clinical guidance to psychiatric and primary care nurse practitioners.
- Support outpatient behavioral health and substance use treatment programs through clinical leadership and administrative oversight as needed.
- Participate in community outreach activities, health fairs, and special events throughout the year.
Minimum Qualifications- MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
- Unrestricted Georgia medical license or eligibility to obtain.
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Psychiatry Residency Program.
- Minimum one year of experience serving disadvantaged or special-needs populations.
- Certification in Addiction Psychiatry, Addiction Medicine, or demonstrated expertise with MAT strongly preferred.
- Experience treating co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders in a multidisciplinary setting.
