Full Job Description
Leads the day-to-day accounting operations for US and Canada to ensure accurate financial reporting, effective financial controls, and compliance with company policies and accounting standards. Partners with the Finance Director to deliver timely month-end and year-end close processes, provide financial analysis, and support business decision-making. Oversees accounts receivable, and accounts payable functions, maintains the integrity of financial data, supports tax compliance activities, and drives continuous improvement across finance

processes.

  • Accountable for the ownership and delivery of accurate and timely month-end and year- end close activities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
  • Accountable for maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, financial reporting, reconciliations, and accounting records to support informed business decisions.
  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, treasury activities, reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable process, including credit control, supplier payments, invoicing, reconciliations and cash flow management.
  • Monitor financial performance, identify trends and risks, and recommend process improvements to strengthen financial controls and operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate internal and external audit activities, ensuring the timely provision of financial information and resolution of audit findings.
  • Support cross-functional teams with financial information, customer account setup, pricing updates, and other finance-related projects as required.
  • Support global and local tax compliance activities, including the preparation of information for statutory filings, audits and external advisors, as required.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor the Finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high performance.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and month-end close processes.
  • Experience managing general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, treasury activities, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
  • Experience preparing financial reports, analyzing financial data, and supporting budgeting and variance analysis.
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience leading, developing, and mentoring a finance team

Desirable

  • Professional accounting qualification (CPA, CMA, or equivalent) or working towards certification.
  • Experience with NetSuite ERP.
  • Experience supporting US sales tax, corporate tax, or other indirect tax compliance
  • Experience within the medical device, pharmaceutical, or healthcare industry.
  • Experience working in a growing, international organization.
