Position Summary

The Accounting Manager oversees the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, account reconciliation, and compliance with internal controls and GAAP. This role supervises accounting staff, supports month-end processes, and assists with budgeting and forecasting. The accounting manager also collaborates cross-functionally to streamline processes and improve financial efficiency.

Principle Responsibilities

Lead and execute the month-end close process and preparation of financial Statements

Oversee and reconcile all balance sheet accounts and investigate and resolve variances

Drive the annual budgeting process and produce periodic forecasts

Lead and manage the accounts payable team

Review sales tax returns and compile supporting schedules for annual income taxes

Ad-Hoc analysis and special projects

Specific Duties include the following:
• Manage day-to-day accounting operations and procedures
• Manage numerous aspects of the financial close process, including account reconciliations, analysis, and financial reporting
• Review invoices and payables for proper classification and ensure payments are made timely
• Identify and implement process improvements in the financial close and financial reporting processes, leveraging systems and software tools to automate tasks and improve efficiency
• Lead other team members in analysis, problem solving, and process improvement efforts
• Prepare the annual budget and collaborate with management and leaders to ensure completion
• Assist with developing new processes and documenting controls and reporting requirements for new activities as the business grows
• Complete other projects as assigned

Required Certifications, Training, Skills, Specific Knowledge and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance required

8+ years of experience with at least 4 years of management responsibility

Proficient with Microsoft Products & general comfort with technology

Highly motivated self-starter and problem solver that is both organized and detail oriented

Superior analytical skills and ability to break down complex issues and implement appropriate resolutions

Demonstrated ability to contribute to project teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting milestones and quality objectives

Ability to work with all levels of personnel and executives within an organization

Experience with Sage Intacct and Solver is a plus
