Role RoadmapKalshi is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our growing Finance team. This is a highly hands-on role for someone who wants to own meaningful parts of the accounting close, improve processes, and help build the financial infrastructure of a rapidly scaling company.
You'll work across the business to ensure transactions are recorded accurately, accounts are reconciled, and our financials are complete and audit-ready. As Kalshi continues to scale, you'll also help strengthen controls, automate workflows, and build processes that can support increasing complexity and future public-company requirements.
What You'll Do- Own key areas of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Ensure transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Maintain balance sheet accounts and proactively investigate and resolve discrepancies
- Support preparation of monthly financial statements and management reporting
- Partner with teams across the company to understand new products, transactions, and accounting implications
- Support external audits and ensure schedules and supporting documentation are audit-ready
- Help develop and maintain accounting policies, processes, and internal controls
- Identify opportunities to automate and streamline accounting workflows
- Support technical accounting analysis for new or unusual transactions as needed
- Help build the accounting infrastructure required as Kalshi continues to scale
What You Bring- 4+ years of accounting experience, ideally with a combination of public accounting and operating-company experience
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and core accounting principles
- Experience owning significant components of the monthly close
- Strong experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
- Ability to independently investigate accounting issues and drive them to resolution
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to operate in a fast-moving environment
- Comfortable working cross-functionally and translating business activity into accurate accounting treatment
- Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills
- CPA preferred
- Experience at a high-growth technology, fintech, financial services, or other complex business is a plus
- Experience supporting audits, implementing controls, or preparing a company for increased reporting requirements is a plus
NYC Pay Transparency Disclosure:Salary Range: $120,000 to $175,000 annually plus equity and benefits.
