Role Roadmap

Kalshi is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our growing Finance team. This is a highly hands-on role for someone who wants to own meaningful parts of the accounting close, improve processes, and help build the financial infrastructure of a rapidly scaling company.

You'll work across the business to ensure transactions are recorded accurately, accounts are reconciled, and our financials are complete and audit-ready. As Kalshi continues to scale, you'll also help strengthen controls, automate workflows, and build processes that can support increasing complexity and future public-company requirements.

What You'll Do
  • Own key areas of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Ensure transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with U.S. GAAP
  • Maintain balance sheet accounts and proactively investigate and resolve discrepancies
  • Support preparation of monthly financial statements and management reporting
  • Partner with teams across the company to understand new products, transactions, and accounting implications
  • Support external audits and ensure schedules and supporting documentation are audit-ready
  • Help develop and maintain accounting policies, processes, and internal controls
  • Identify opportunities to automate and streamline accounting workflows
  • Support technical accounting analysis for new or unusual transactions as needed
  • Help build the accounting infrastructure required as Kalshi continues to scale


What You Bring
  • 4+ years of accounting experience, ideally with a combination of public accounting and operating-company experience
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and core accounting principles
  • Experience owning significant components of the monthly close
  • Strong experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
  • Ability to independently investigate accounting issues and drive them to resolution
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to operate in a fast-moving environment
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally and translating business activity into accurate accounting treatment
  • Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills
  • CPA preferred
  • Experience at a high-growth technology, fintech, financial services, or other complex business is a plus
  • Experience supporting audits, implementing controls, or preparing a company for increased reporting requirements is a plus

Salary Range: $120,000 to $175,000 annually plus equity and benefits.
