Position SummaryThe Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, supervising accounting staff, and ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of financial reporting. This role plays a critical part in maintaining financial integrity, supporting audits, and ensuring compliance with all accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee daily accounting operations and provide leadership to accounting team members.
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
- Review and analyze financial statements, reports, and supporting schedules for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with the development and implementation of process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Support internal and external audit activities and ensure timely completion of audit requests.
- Collaborate with operational leaders to provide financial insights and recommendations.
- Monitor account reconciliations and general ledger activities.
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation in accordance with company standards.
- Participate in special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
- Experience managing month-end and year-end close processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial/accounting systems.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications- Healthcare, long-term care, or multi-location accounting experience preferred.
- Cost reporting experience strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting external audits and regulatory reporting.
