We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Accounting Manager to join our growing finance team and oversee Operational Accounting for our German operations. This is a hands-on leadership role for a small offshore accounting team. You are a professional who enjoys owning the details while also leading and developing a team. Responsibilities
- Operational Accounting: Manage offshore team to complete daily accounts payable and accounts receivable, including posting of invoicing, collections, and vendor payments. Maintain the general ledger, including preparation and review of journal entries. Reconcile bank accounts and financial records. Support payroll processing and related reporting. Support the completion of monthly consolidated account reconciliations. Inventory Accounting including costing, variance analysis, reporting and reconciliations including intercompany. Inventory Accounting including costing, variance analysis, reporting and reconciliation.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, management reports, bank reports and variance analysis.
- Cost & Inventory Management: Assist with inventory valuation, Cost of goods sold (COGS) analysis and reconciliation; collaborate with operations/supply chain to gather cost data.
- Reconciliation: Perform bank and general ledger reconciliations.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement internal controls to safeguard Company assets.
- Audits: Support internal and external audits.
- ERP Implementation: Strategically allocate (Sage X3).
- Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, or advisors as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.
- CPA designation required.
- 5+ years of relevant accounting/financial analysis is required.
- Full-cycle accounting experience is required.
- 2+ years of Inventory accounting experience is required. This is a key skill set.
- 2+ years of leadership skills is required. This is a hands-on role as well. Small offshore team.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, best practices, and procedures.
- Proven experience with process documentation of accounting procedures and internal controls.
- Ability to create a cost/expense allocation to appropriately share expenses across various projects, business units, reporting entities.
- Possess a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
- Excellent written and communication skills including preparation and presentation of verbal and written reports, presentations, and recommendations.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet individual goals and deadlines.
- Excellent time-management, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills.
- Establish effective working relationships with others to successfully lead, mentor, coach, and motivate.
- Demonstration of the highest level of integrity and trust.
- Expert user of the Microsoft suite of products, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience with Sage X3 preferred.
