WHAT YOU WILL DO- Own day-to-day accounting for the U.S. entity: general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, bank and credit card reconciliations, and accruals.
- Run the U.S. month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close on the global close calendar, and deliver the monthly close pack to the Corporate Controller: a reconciliation for every balance sheet account, tied to the general ledger, with any variances explained.
- Maintain and improve the close pack: prepaid and amortization schedules, fixed assets and depreciation, inventory tied to physical counts, accruals, and intercompany. Tighten tie-outs, automate manual steps, and add schedules as the business grows.
- Own the U.S. side of intercompany accounting: record intercompany charges, reconcile balances with the Norwegian team each month, and resolve differences before consolidation.
- Find and lead opportunities to improve our accounting processes, policies, and reporting, working with the Corporate Controller to strengthen U.S. GAAP practices as the company grows.
- Build audit readiness for the U.S. entity, with PBC-ready schedules and support, and serve as the day-to-day contact for the U.S. entity during the external audit.
- Execute revenue recognition for U.S. contracts under ASC 606, maintain contract schedules and cost tracking, and flag judgment areas to the Corporate Controller.
- Maintain manufacturing and inventory cost accounting for U.S. production: standard costs, labor and overhead absorption, WIP, and inventory valuation.
- Manage payroll accounting and stock-based compensation entries with our payroll provider and equity administrator.
- Coordinate with external CPAs on U.S. federal and state income tax, sales and use tax, property tax, and 1099 reporting.
- Operate and enforce internal controls and close procedures for the U.S. entity, and recommend improvements to group policy.
- Support operations, procurement, and program teams with budget-to-actual reporting, purchase-commitment tracking, and cash forecasting inputs.
