The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing multiple tasks in a busy work environment, proficiency working with ERP software and a willingness to learn. RESPONSIBILITIES - Full-cycle accounting: reconciling key accounts, month-end close and developing supporting working papers.
- Analyze financial results to support operations
- Support the month-end process through compiling results and providing analysis for senior management
- Maintain financial, accounting and records management systems
- Identify internal and system control risks and assists with the development and documentation of new processes to enhance the workflow of various departments including Information Technology (IT), Finance and Accounting, and Human Resources
- Provides options and recommendations for the implementation of new policies and practices
- Assist with implementing improvements to financial controls and procedures
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve requests from operational teams by adhering to accounting and business policies
- Become a key resource for employees nationally in the operation of our specialized ERP software, including responding to issues and requests as necessary
- Assist and lead ad-hoc projects as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS - CPA professional accounting designation or on the path to becoming CPA designated.
- 3+ years progressive accounting experience
- Track record of managing deliverables from multiple parties to meet challenging deadlines
- A collaborative approach to leading an accounting team in finding creative solutions to daily issues
- Experience working in a service-based organization
- Experience in a multi-union, federally regulated environment
