Position: Accountant

Department: Finance & Accounting

Position Location: Saddle Brook, New Jersey

Reports to: Accounting Manager

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: The Accountant Manager will report directly to the Accounting Manager.

ABOUT THE ROLE: Arrow Fastener is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant to join our Finance team. In this role, you will contribute to the company's success by performing a variety of accounting, reporting, and financial control functions. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while supporting month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance activities.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing financial information.
  • Record and document financial transactions accurately and timely.
  • Prepare and assist with balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
  • Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounting transactions.
  • Analyze financial information and summarize financial status for management review.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Perform account reconciliations and maintain accounting controls and procedures.
  • Prepare journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Manage fixed asset and construction-in-progress (CIP) systems and perform physical asset inventory audits.
  • Track and report monthly activity related to prepaids, scrap shipments, repairs and maintenance, freight, utilities, and other receivables.
  • Reconcile intercompany accounts, including payroll and wire/ACH transactions.
  • Perform bank account maintenance and monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Assist with internal and external audits and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.


WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting or finance experience.
  • Manufacturing or consumer products industry experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of financial statement preparation, balance sheet analysis, GAAP, and internal controls.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with ERP systems; experience with AS400, MAPICS, Fixed Assets, and Contract Management systems is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
