What You Will DoLuminultra is recruiting an
Account Manager, Oil & Gas. In this role, you will work closely with customers throughout the energy sector to understand their operational challenges and identify how Luminultra's molecular diagnostic solutions can support microbial monitoring, asset integrity, corrosion management, and overall system performance.
This role is well suited to someone with a background in microbiology, molecular biology, chemistry, environmental science, engineering, or another related scientific discipline who is interested in applying their technical expertise in a customer-facing capacity. While previous sales and Oil & Gas experience would be valuable, Luminultra is open to candidates who bring strong scientific knowledge, curiosity, and the ability to build trusted relationships.
The successful candidate will be comfortable discussing technical concepts with customers, learning their operations, and connecting scientific insights to practical business outcomes.
As the Account Manager, Oil & Gas, you will support key organizational objectives and have key responsibilities such as:
- Develop end-to-end sales approach to engage prospective customers and ultimately deliver the sale to increase client base.
- Maximize sales by driving communication, identifying compelling customer value propositions, appropriate technology selection, and competitive program solutions to map to business strengths and customer needs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key personnel within customer companies.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues within other industries to share best practices and lessons learned.
- Quickly become an expert on Luminultra's testing capability and stay up-to-date on all relevant market developments.
- Work with existing/long-term customer accounts. Utilize business reviews to drive customer satisfaction through understanding the selected accounts' businesses, drivers, initiatives, and critical success factors.
- Assist with onboarding new customers - getting started with our products through interactive training sessions focused on their unique applications.
- Establish and maintain a well-organized sales pipeline in the CRM database.
- Contribute to sales team/subject matter experts' authoring of marketing collateral where appropriate.
This role requires approximately 40-50% travel to customer sites, industry conferences, trade shows, and other business events, including travel by car and air.
This position offers a base salary range of
$100,000 - $125,000 USD, depending on experience, with the opportunity for
increased compensation through our Sales Incentive Bonus Plan. Who You AreYou're a self-motivated individual, who is looking for an opportunity to develop within an organization that's on a consistent growth and expansion trajectory. Additionally, you bring skills and experience such as:
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in microbiology, molecular biology, chemistry, biochemistry, environmental science, engineering, or a related scientific or technical field; or an equivalent combination of relevant education and professional experience.
- 5+ years of technical sales, account management, business development, applications support, or related customer-facing experience, preferably within industrial markets.
- Experience applying scientific and/or technical knowledge to real-world customer, operational, laboratory, research, or industrial challenges.
- Ability to understand complex scientific and/or technical information and communicate it clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- A curious and consultative approach, with a genuine interest in understanding customer challenges and identifying practical, value-driven solutions.
- Proactive, self-directed, and highly organized, with the ability to manage priorities and work independently in a remote environment.
- Proven experience working with chemical and/or microbial control programs; experience within Oil & Gas, industrial processing, water treatment, chemical treatment, corrosion management, or a related sector is considered an asset.
