The RoleAs an Account Manager II, you will expand our Regional Enterprise business by building new customer relationships and delivering technology solutions that address complex business needs. You will own new-business development within the Houston market, engaging prospective enterprise customers through consultative, solution-based selling.
This is an opportunity for an experienced sales professional to establish a strong local presence, collaborate with cross-functional partners, and directly contribute to revenue growth. You will have the autonomy to develop your territory while benefiting from the expertise and resources of a connected, customer-focused organization.
Location and Schedule - Candidates should expect approximately 25% to 50% of their time to involve sales activities outside the home office, depending on customer and territory needs.
- The role requires regular customer-facing activity in the Houston market, including customer meetings, site visits, networking, partner engagement, and industry events.
- Candidates must live in Houston, Texas, or within a one-hour commute.
The Main Responsibilities- Develop new Regional Enterprise business by identifying and engaging prospective enterprise customers headquartered in the assigned market.
- Build and manage a qualified sales pipeline through prospecting, cold calling, customer visits, networking, lead generation, proposals, and customer appointments.
- Apply a consultative, solution-based sales approach to understand customer priorities and connect them with appropriate products, services, and solutions.
- Identify, pursue, negotiate, and close new sales opportunities to meet or exceed established revenue and sales quotas.
- Create comprehensive account plans and strategies that support new-business growth and expansion within existing accounts.
- Maintain accurate and detailed weekly forecasts of identified and proposed opportunities.
- Collaborate with Customer Success, Product, Marketing, Solutions and Technology experts, Sales Support, and Service Delivery to solve customer challenges.
- Share customer and market insights with sales leadership and recommend actions that strengthen Lumen's position with customers.
What We Look For in a CandidateMinimum- Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Five to seven or more years of experience selling enterprise technology services through a consultative, solution-based methodology.
- Experience navigating complex sales processes from prospecting through close.
- Demonstrated ability to develop customer relationships, negotiate effectively, and close new business.
- Strong written, verbal, and formal presentation skills.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to understand and communicate complex products, services, and solutions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to conduct at least 50% of sales activities outside the office.
Preferred- Experience using Salesforce.
- Knowledge of enterprise technology products, services, and solutions.
- Established professional relationships within the Houston enterprise business community.
- Experience collaborating across sales, customer success, product, marketing, technology, sales support, and service-delivery teams.
CompensationThis information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
Location Based Pay Ranges:
$70,949 - $94,595 in these states: TX
