Full Job Description
The Role

This is an Account Executive role on Outtake's Government team, focused on state and local government agencies. This is a relationship-driven sales role - the ideal candidate brings years of existing relationships and is a familiar and trusted messenger at the industry conferences and events that state and local government buyers attend year after year.

You will accelerate Outtake's state and local sales, using established agency and political relationships to move procurement forward. The role begins as an individual contributor position, reporting into the Government team lead and broader sales team leadership as a dedicated public sector hire.

This is a relationship-driven, strategic sales role. You will own go-to-market for a book of business across state and local government agencies, represent Outtake at the recurring conferences and events these buyers attend annually, and turn long-tenured relationships into shortened sales cycles and closed business.

What You'll Do
  • Own the strategy and lead go-to-market for a book of business across state and local government agencies, with a focus on Secretary of State offices and adjacent use cases including cyber, critical infrastructure security, executive protection, DMV fraud, and employment fraud
  • Leverage existing, long-tenured relationships across state and local government to open new opportunities and accelerate active pipeline
  • Represent Outtake at the recurring conferences, association events, and industry gatherings that state and local government buyers attend annually, maintaining and expanding Outtake's presence in these circles
  • Use or establish agency and political relationships to help move procurement processes forward and shorten sales cycles
  • Partner closely with the proposal/capture team to develop responses to qualified opportunities, including win themes and value propositions
  • Track and report on pipeline, relationship-sourced opportunities, and progress against state and local targets
  • Collaborate with Outtake for Government team leadership on go-to-market strategy and investment priorities for the state and local motion
  • As the state and local motion matures, we expect this role to take on broader ownership over go-to-market strategy for the public sector team

What We're Looking For
  • A bachelor's degree, or equivalent professional experience in state and local government relations, sales, or public affairs in lieu of a degree
  • Multiple years of direct, sustained experience selling into or working alongside state and local government agencies, with a demonstrable, established network of agency relationships
  • Prior experience in a government-facing business development, account executive, or public sector relationship management role
  • Nice to have: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Nice to have: prior military or government service
  • Nice to have: Security+ or other relevant cyber or AI certifications, or hands-on experience
Life at Outtake
  • Office: For those in NY, we are an in-person team (5 days a week, with flexibility as needed) working out of a stunning waterfront office in Brooklyn. Collaboration, speed, and clarity matter.
  • Health: 100% company-paid medical, dental, and vision for employees.
  • Time Away: Flexible PTO. We trust adults to manage energy, not clock time.
  • Culture & Team: Annual company retreats and regular in-person events.
