Department of Medicine Hospitalist

Job Description

The School of Medicine is excited to announce an opening for an Academic Nocturnist Hospitalist Physician within the Department of Medicine. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled professional to join our patient-centered care team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide independent medical support services on inpatient floors, collaborating with physician assistants and hospital staff to promote team-based care.
• Conduct comprehensive health assessments, demonstrating autonomy and expertise in diagnosing and treating health issues.
• Order and perform diagnostic procedures; monitor patient conditions, lab values, and diagnostic results to develop effective treatment goals.
• Collaborate with other faculty and physician assistants on complex cases as outlined in the collaborative agreement.
• Serve as a resource for patients, families, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals in your area of expertise.
• Obtain and document thorough histories and physical exams, effectively communicating relevant medical information to surgeons and physicians.
• Identify trends in patient care and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Assist in developing and implementing standards for structure, process, and outcomes.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Shift

Shift Type: 7:00pm - 7:00am, 7 days on, 7 days off rotating schedule with the ability to be flexible when needs arise
Office/Administrative Hours: Position will not have Office/Admin Hours
Flexibility for Alternative Schedules: No

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Board Eligible or Board Certified
