Description

NYU Langone Hospital - Long Island, a 591-bed university-affiliated medical center, NYU Long Island School of Medicine teaching hospital, and American College of Surgeons (ACS) Level 1 Trauma Center, is seeking outstanding physicians for two academic faculty opportunities: Academic Inpatient Hospitalist and Director of Hepatology. These positions offer the opportunity to join one of the nation's premier academic health systems and contribute to excellence in patient care, education, and research.

Academic Inpatient Hospialist

Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the Attending Physician for the Gastroenterology Inpatient Consultation Service.
  • Provide comprehensive inpatient gastroenterology consultation and management.
  • Perform general inpatient endoscopic procedures in collaboration with faculty colleagues.
  • Supervise and mentor gastroenterology fellows, physician assistants, internal medicine residents, and medical students.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary patient care and collaborate with consulting services throughout the hospital.
  • Contribute to the education and academic mission of NYU Long Island School of Medicine through bedside teaching and clinical instruction.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support the Division's commitment to clinical excellence.


Qualifications:

  • MD, DO, or equivalent medical degree.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology.
  • Eligible for or currently holding an unrestricted New York State medical license.
  • Demonstrated excellence in inpatient gastroenterology and endoscopic care.
  • Commitment to medical education, patient-centered care, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Interest in participating in academic activities, quality improvement, and clinical innovation is highly desirable.


Director of Hepatology

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide strategic and clinical leadership for the Hepatology Program at NYU Langone Hospital - Long Island.
  • Collaborate closely with the NYU Transplant Institute to optimize care for patients requiring liver transplantation.
  • Develop and strengthen multidisciplinary clinical programs focused on liver disease and transplant hepatology.
  • Participate in clinical research, scholarly activity, and program development to advance the Division's academic mission.
  • Foster collaboration across gastroenterology, surgery, radiology, pathology, oncology, and transplant services.
  • Support quality improvement, program growth, physician recruitment, and faculty development within the Division.


Qualifications:

  • MD, DO, or equivalent medical degree.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Transplant Hepatology.
  • Eligible for or currently holding an unrestricted New York State medical license.
  • Demonstrated clinical expertise in hepatology and liver transplantation.
  • Proven leadership, communication, and team-building skills with a commitment to academic medicine.
  • Experience in teaching, research, and program development is strongly preferred.

The salary range listed is for full-time employment and does not include incentive compensation or benefits. Actual salary may not fall within the listed salary range; consideration will be made for experience, training, hospital/community need, and other factors.
