Full Job Description
Torch Technologies is seeking a Model Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) to join a team supporting the Targets and Countermeasures program office of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). This position supports the Targets and Countermeasures program office.
As a Model Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) your duties will include the following, but are not limited to:
• System Modeling & Architecture: Develop and maintain descriptive system models using SysML.
• Requirements Traceability: Map system-level and component-level requirements directly to architecture artifacts.
• Digital Engineering Integration: Support MDA Digital Engineering initiatives.
• Technical Baseline Reviews: Assist in preparing and presenting model-centric artifacts for milestone reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, CCBs).
• Interface & Trade Studies: Conduct architectural trade studies and analyze interface definition documents.
• Configuration & Data Management: Maintain version control and compliance for SysML models.
Required Qualifications:
• U.S. Citizenship
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent experience
• 5+ years supporting missile defense or large-scale DoD programs
• Active Secret clearance
• Demonstrated proficiency with SysML and core systems engineering frameworks (DoDAF, UAF)
• Hands-on experience with MBSE tools such as Cameo Enterprise Architect, MagicDraw, and Sparx Enterprise Architect
Preferred Qualifications:
• 7+ years related experience.
• Experience supporting missile defense or other complex DoD systems
• Experience with digital engineering environments
• Experience conducting interface analyses or trade studies
• Experience supporting MDA programs (Targets and Countermeasures, Ground-Based Midcourse Defense, THAAD, Aegis BMD, or C2BMC)
• OMG-Certified Systems Modeling Professional (OCSMP) certification (Fundamental, Intermediate, or Advanced)
• Working knowledge of requirement management tools (DOORS, Cameo Requirements Plugin) and issue-tracking platforms (Jira, Confluence)
• Experience integrating MBSE models with analytical/simulation environments (MATLAB/Simulink, Python, OpenMBEE)
• Familiarity with DoD Systems Engineering processes, CDRLs, and technical baseline governance
• Preferred Majors: Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, STEM
