The Position

Genentech USA, Inc. seeks a Therapeutics Area Analytics & Insights Senior Manager at its South San Francisco, CA location.

Duties: Within global pharmaceutical and medical diagnostics company, meet with management to understand key market analytics and strategy for business needs and questions. Support field force deployment for product brands using market analysis. Support optimization of the value of investments using advanced machine learning, predictive modeling, and statistical techniques. Conduct promotional effectiveness measurement to test promotional tactics pilots, optimize their roll outs and measure their return on investment (ROI). Support national & regional analytics and targeting tools: Develop and innovate tools and dashboards to assess product & portfolio performance at the national and regional level as well as real time targeting insights to inform business strategies and tactics in real-time. Evaluate market adoption of products. Create frameworks to generate key business insights. Streamline visualization of the business performance metrics using data visualization to create interactive dashboards for field and home office leadership to help track the business performance real time. Share insights specific to key products or customers or geographical regions. Deliver impactful insights for market strategy, weighing and communicating trade-off considerations) to answer market and strategy questions. Develop business cases for proposed tactics.

Education/Experience Requirement: Master's degree in Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Management, Market Analytics, Bioscience/Biotechnology, or a closely related field, plus four (4) years of experience as a Business Analyst, Decision Analyst, Market Analyst, or closely related position within the U.S. Healthcare Industry.

Alternative Education/Experience Requirement: Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Management, Market Analytics, Bioscience/Biotechnology, or a closely related field, plus seven (7) years of post-baccalaureate progressive experience as a Business Analyst, Decision Analyst, Market Analyst, or closely related position within the U.S. Healthcare Industry.

Specialized Experience: Must have two (2) years of experience with each of the following:

1. Market analysis including customer segmentation, targeting and promotional effectiveness measurement

2. Advanced machine learning or predictive modeling or statistical techniques such as multi-variate regression, k-means, hierarchical clustering and Decision Trees

3. Analysis (processing, filtering and exploring) of structured and unstructured healthcare datasets such as claims patient data, EMR patient data, and payer data

4. Data analysis using programing languages such as SQL, Python, R, and Workbench tools such as Redshift, Teradata or Amazon Web Services Athena5

5. Data visualization and presentation software such as Tableau and Power BI

6. Patient, physician/provider and payer-level data analytics

7. Oncology therapeutic area experience

8. Regression Analysis

9. Statistics: Test and control analysis

The expected annual salary range for this position based on the primary location for this position of South San Francisco, California is $206,565 to $285,200 per year. Actual pay within the range will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
