Job Description:

ROLE OVERVIEW:

Experienced colleague who assists with troubleshooting, performing minor to moderate repairs, and maintaining electrical equipment and machinery.

Required Shift:

  • 3rd Shift: 10:30pm - 6:30am

Pay Range Based on Experience:

  • $38.52 - $44.32 per hour

Shift Differential:

  • $1.75/hr

Key Responsibilities

  • Performs scheduled preventive maintenance tasks such as checking, cleaning, or repairing equipment to detect and prevent problems. 
  • Performs start up and shut down of equipment in accordance with operation’s requirements and company safety procedures.
  • Visually inspects and tests electrical machinery and equipment.
  • Dismantles, inspects, and replaces electrical machinery and defective electrical parts.
  • Conducts thorough inspections to identify underlying issues and troubleshoots complex problems.
  • Performs complex lay-outs, assemblies, installs, tests, repairs, and adjusts electrical fixtures, apparatuses, equipment, wiring, to include panels and breakers.
  • Installs, maintains, and troubleshoots complex industrial control systems, including instrumentation and power distribution equipment.
  • Performs PLC programming, troubleshooting and program documentation maintenance.
  • Examines work orders and converses with equipment operators to detect complex equipment problems.
  • Reads and interprets equipment manuals, diagrams, sketches, schematics, engineering specifications, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service. Revises manuals, diagrams, sketches, schematics, and engineering specifications for projects.
  • Performs work of complex electrical theory and principles, statutory codes, and principles of operation of electrical equipment.
  • Responds to any arc flash incidents to ensure safety and mitigate further risks.
  • Mentors Junior Technicians.
  • Introduces new safety initiatives, rules, and processes.
  • Adheres to safety rules including live panel permits, arc flash safety, NEC codes, and other safety rules that govern electrical trades.
  • May mentor junior electricians on safety best practices.
  • Promotes, complies, and ensures operations and company safety procedures and practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Education and Experience

  • Typically possesses High School diploma (or equivalent) and 4-6  years of experience.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of electrical theory, codes, and safety standards (e.g., NEC, arc flash).
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving complex electrical problems.
  • Strong skills in installing, maintaining, and repairing panels, fixtures, power systems, and industrial controls.
  • Expertise in PLC programming, troubleshooting, and maintaining documentation.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and revise schematics, diagrams, manuals, and specifications.
  • Skill in inspections, complex layouts, and overseeing repairs or system upgrades.
  • Deep understanding of electrical safety, with ability to respond to incidents and drive new initiatives.
  • Ability to mentor and coach junior technicians and share best practices.
  • Commitment to safety compliance and promoting safe work practices.

Compensation Range:

The pay range for this position is $26.68 - $45.43annually. Typically, a competitive wage for new hires will fall between $44.32 to $44.32. Offers for this position may vary based on market data and other factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. If the competitive wage is equal in both fields, the starting rate is the same for all applicants that apply for this role. The starting rate is not representative of future compensation increases. The position may also be eligible for a short-term incentive.
