Job Description1st Shift Receiving SupervisorPay Range: $76,000 - $94,000 depending on relevant experience and qualifications
Location: Temecula, CA 92590
Shift/Work Schedule: The approximate work schedule for this position is Monday - Friday from 6:00am - 3:00pm. Flexibility is required to meet the needs of the business, and may include Saturdays during peak production times.
ResponsibilitiesThe Receiving Supervisor coordinates and oversees the daily operations of the receiving department. This role ensures that all incoming materials and shipments are unloaded, inspected, verified, and safely transferred into inventory with accuracy and efficiency. The supervisor also leads, trains, and schedules receiving personnel while enforcing strict safety and compliance standards.
Operations Management
- Supervise the daily unloading, sorting, and staging of all incoming materials and products.
- Verify delivery documentation (e.g., packing slips, bills of lading, purchase orders) against actual goods received to ensure accuracy.
- Inspect incoming products for defects, damages, or discrepancies, and proactively initiate the returns process or file freight claims when necessary.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of the receiving docks and staging areas by applying lean principles like 5S practices.
Team Leadership & Personnel
- Schedule and assign daily tasks to the receiving team based on expected shipment volumes.
- Train and onboard new hires on standard operating procedures, safety guidelines, and equipment operation.
- Conduct team briefings of each shift to communicate performance metrics, workloads, and safety notices.
- Monitor employee performance, deliver constructive coaching, and administer HR disciplinary actions when required.
Inventory & Data Control
- Ensure prompt data entry of all received goods into the company's Warehouse Management System (WMS) or ERP.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies between physical counts and system records to implement corrective actions.
- Support cycle counts and physical inventory audits
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce OSHA compliance and company-specific industrial safety standards across the receiving area.
- Inspect material handling equipment (like forklifts, crane, pallet jacks, and scanners) to ensure they are safe for operation, arrange repairs of any defects.
- Identify unsafe warehouse practices or conditions and make immediate adjustments to prevent injury.

Qualifications- High School diploma required; some college preferred
- APICS certification preferred
- System Proficiency: Strong experience utilizing Warehouse Management System (WMS) platforms, RF scanners, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook).
- Equipment Certification: Valid certification to operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts and electric pallet jacks.
- Problem-Solving: Proven ability to resolve delivery disputes, coordinate with purchasing team, and handle transactional issues calmly.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to handle inter-departmental collaboration.

- Inventory management and control experience
- Glass handling and/or glass knowledge a plus
Essential Abilities- Compute basic math problems to include fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to read a tape measure.
- Good hand eye coordination and the ability to discern colors.
- Ability to work in, and promote, a team environment.
- Capable of lifting up to 100 pounds

Physical Demands- Ability to stand and walk on a concrete warehouse floor for long periods.
- Ability to safely lift, push, or pull items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Flexibility to work in varying temperatures and environmental conditions (e.g., non-climate-controlled loading docks).
Work Environment- Work performed in a warehouse type facility with temperatures subject to normal environmental conditions.
- Hearing protection and safety glasses required, additional safety equipment provided based on specific job.
- Work surfaces are primarily concrete with anti-fatigue mats provided where feasible. Personnel will stand while performing their respective job functions, for up to 12 hours a day.
