Start your career where your work matters from day one. As a Project Data Science and Machine Learning Engineer at Lutron, you'll contribute to meaningful, high-impact projects that help shape the future of smart lighting and shading technology used in homes and businesses around the world.

Working within a collaborative, cross-functional team, you'll help bring innovative consumer products to life by tackling real engineering challenges across developing machine learning techniques, data validation, and driving business solutions leveraging data. You will work closely with the data-engineering team to determine the best approaches to utilizing data within the company.

You'll grow through direct mentorship from industry experts, building hands-on experience across the full product lifecycle with a clear path forward deepening your technical expertise while gaining leadership skills through your projects and development as an integral part of the team.

You will encounter a variety of technologies throughout the product lifecycle such as:

Your contributions will utilize the following foundational areas:
  • Develop, validate and implement machine learning techniques
  • Help assess the precision of our applied techniques and work with stakeholders to tailor the best solution for the problem
  • Work closely with data engineers and business analysts to process, clean, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis
  • Identify opportunities for strategically leveraging data to drive business solutions


Responsibilities

  • Communicating complex ideas across all levels of organization using clear data- visualizations techniques
  • Utilizing tools like Jupyter Notebooks, Python, R, and supporting libraries as well as querying and scripting tools
  • Communicating verbally and visually, connecting the dots, and breaking down complex problems into simpler units
  • Working cross-funtionally with stakeholders to design experiments, collect data, and rule out variables


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or Statistics
  • Minimum, cumulative GPA of 3.00 for each degree earned
  • 0-3 years' experience in a related field
  • You are authorized to work in the U.S. and will not require Lutron to sponsor you for any work visa, such as an H-1B, either immediately or at any time in the future. Lutron does not offer work visa sponsorship for this position.
  • Willingness and ability to work on-site 5 days per week
