Job Description:
The AVP, Product Group Owner, Automation and Workflow is accountable to lead a team of Product Owners, Business Systems Analysts, Technical leaders, and Intake and Advocacy Managers, and is responsible for ensuring that the Product Group and its Pods are creating value for the organization through initiative delivery that is aligned with business vision and strategy and consistently drives measurable outcomes. This entails aligning with other business & technical partners, and senior management to follow a product vision, creating and maintaining a prioritized product backlog, managing delivery blockers, continuously assessing stakeholder feedback, and driving innovation for the Product Group.
The Product Group Owner should always consider how to maximize value, assess how the products and the delivery process can be continuously improved, contribute to a positive work environment, and ensure that work embodies the Agile principles of transparency, collaboration and engagement. The Product Group Owner will have a high level of interaction with both Technical and non-Technical Business Partners and Asset Owners, requiring a high level of skill in collaborative strategic vision and roadmap building, relationship management, change management, and communications, across all levels of executive leadership, up to and including at the SVP level.
- Extensive expertise and knowledge of specific domain or broad range of experience in technology domains, including understanding of in-house and third-party architecture integration
- Extensive knowledge of TD applications, systems, networks, innovation, design activities, best practices, business / organization, Bank standards, regulatory and compliance standards, and may fulfill a governance role
- Provides leadership and guidance to several teams across the enterprise and solves complex cross-department issues
- Participates in the development of business strategies
- Works autonomously on highly complex projects / issues / escalations which are diverse in scope and/or multi-faceted and often provides leadership and direction to the team
- Ensures solutions are consistent with organizational objectives
- Utilize subject matter expertise to introduce new products and technologies, or new versions of existing products or technologies, into the organization
- Reports to the VP, Enablement Platform
Shared Responsibilities:
SHAREHOLDER
- Ensure adherence to all delivery frameworks and methodologies, and applicable compliance requirements
- Ensure Product Group follows applicable internal and external requirements (e.g. financial controls, segregation of duties, transaction approvals and physical control of assets), while ensuring risks are identified and monitored, and key controls and processes are effectively managed
- Lead relationships with business lines / corporate and/or control functions to ensure alignment with enterprise and/or regulatory requirements
- Lead or contribute to cross-functional / enterprise initiatives as an organizational or subject matter expert helping to identify risk / provide guidance for complex situations
- Define the OKRs in partnership with Product Group Technical Lead and other stakeholders as required
- Protect the interests of the organization – identify and manage risks, and escalate nonstandard, high-risk transactions / activities as necessary
- Keep abreast of emerging industry trends, business needs/visions, and evolving regulatory requirements, assessing potential impacts to Digitization vision, strategy and backlog
- Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite

Skills, Education & Experience:
- Undergraduate degree and / or product certificate required
- Graduate degree preferred
- 15+ years of relevant experience (Hands-on Software Engineering and Technical delivery, Business delivery, Shared Services Delivery, including leading Delivery teams)
- Delivery tooling experience across and within the various SDLC practice areas
- 7+ years of Product Owner or Agile related delivery experience
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) certification and project management experience considered an asset
- Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) certifications or experience operating in scaled agile delivery considered an asset
- Delivery experience within multiple TD business segments and technology areas considered an asset
- Solid Functional and/or technical knowledge of business automation and workflow systems, tools, and capabilities are considered an asset, specifically Blue Prism, UiPath, Pega, and Power Automate.
