Director - Infrastructure

Position Summary

The Director of Infrastructure & Service Delivery drives strategy, architecture, operations, and modernization of enterprise technology infrastructure, including cloud, identity, collaboration, data connectivity, and end-user services enabling growth across our asset management & trading platforms.

Partnering with BETM executives, business stakeholders, and technology teams, this role ensures secure, resilient, scalable, compliant, and cost-effective services that support critical operations and transformation.

Reporting to the CIO, the role leads infrastructure engineers, contractors, and specialized technical resources. As part of the BETM IT leadership team, this role balances business needs with technology options, seeking win-win solutions to advance our objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Strategy & Leadership
  • Set the enterprise infrastructure roadmap, architecture standards, governance, investment priorities, capacity plans, and technology lifecycle strategy.
  • Lead cloud, automation, platform engineering, and operational modernization initiatives aligned with business goals.

Cloud & Platform Services
  • Oversee Microsoft Azure and AWS environments, including architecture, migration, governance, optimization, and cost management.
  • Standardize compute, storage, networking, Infrastructure as Code, automation, and self-service capabilities. Experience with Kubernetes (AKS), Docker, and containerization strategies.

Cybersecurity & Identity
  • Direct infrastructure security, identity and privileged access management, zero-trust adoption, and regulatory compliance in partnership with security teams.


Enterprise Operations
  • Ensure availability and performance of critical systems through service management, monitoring, incident and problem management, disaster recovery, and business continuity.

Collaboration & End User Platforms
  • Oversee Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, Intune, endpoint management, remote support, and workplace technology modernization.

Data & Integration Platforms
  • Partner with traders, analysts, application development, and data teams to provide scalable platforms and secure connectivity across cloud, business, analytics, and data warehouse systems.

Vendor & Financial Management
  • Manage infrastructure budgets, vendors, contracts, licensing, procurement, negotiations, utilization, and return on investment.

Team Leadership
  • Lead and develop technical teams, set performance and career goals, and foster accountability, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.


Qualifications

Required Experience
  • 10+ years of progressive IT infrastructure experience, including leadership in complex or regulated enterprise environments.
  • Energy and/or Trading business background preferred
  • Broad expertise across cloud & on prem , networking, cybersecurity, identity, operations, and large-scale transformation.
  • Strong executive communication, budget & cost management, vendor negotiation, and stakeholder leadership skills.
  • Strong vendor management competencies, with experience managing MSPs & consultants
  • Relevant industry certifications preferred, not required - i.e. CCNA, PMP, CISSP
  • Full background in technology lifecycle - vendor selection, implementation, management, decommissioning technology solutions

Technical Expertise
  • Azure, AWS, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Active Directory, and Intune
  • Enterprise networking, security, automation, scripting, monitoring, disaster recovery, and business continuity. Palo Alto and Cisco switching a plus.
  • Data platforms, system integration, and operational management technologies
  • Experience with Agile methodologies. Jira & Jira Service Management a plus
  • Observability and application performance. Datadog a plus

Salary Range: $200,000 - $240,000
