Job Description

Title: Plant Manager - Valley Energy Center - Middletown, NY

Basic Function: Responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of an
720 MW combined-cycle power plant. This includes all operations, maintenance,
staffing, training, testing and subcontracting on site.

Reports to: Director /Vice President, Operations and Maintenance
Coordinates with: Asset Management Group
Engineering & Construction Management Group

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Ensures safety of employees, contractor and public in all plant operations.
2. Leads, directs, plans and coordinates power plant operations & maintenance
to maximize the long-term value of the facility.
3. Maintains regulatory compliance, in coordination with Compliance Manager,
of all Federal, State and local regulations and associated permits. This
includes all applicable environmental, health and safety regulations
4. Accountable for plant for compliance with contractual requirements, including
Power Purchase Agreement and Operations & Maintenance Agreement.
5. Direct responsibility for developing and managing project annual and five year
budget and O&M budget performance.
6. Responsible for the implementation, management, updating and maintaining
of all plant procedures, site policies, training programs, safety programs and
work practices.
7. Monitors and reports plant performance; investigates and corrects any
abnormal conditions.
8. Directs and coordinates operations and maintenance work force in the day-today
operations and maintenance of the power plant to meet production
schedules. This includes all scheduled, daily and major maintenance,
emergency repairs and retrofits.
9. Proposes and upon approval, implements equipment modifications and plant
improvements.
10. Manages onsite subcontractors Plans and manages the hiring and training of all
plant personnel.
11. Assures proper working environment by maintaining morale and good
employee relations.

12. Approves and issues performance reviews, and salary and disciplinary actions.
13. In Coordination with the Asset Management Group responsible for representing Valley Energy Center to the local communities, local interaction with elected and appointed officials and initial interface with offtakers.
14. Plans and directs the development of technical, operational, financial and leadership skills of the facility staff.
15. Travel to DGC sites and other locations as directed by Director/ Vice President.

Qualifications:

2. Experience with water treatment systems.
3. Must have a detailed understanding of electrical generation power plants, including startup, operations and maintenance of power plant equipment, budgeting, performance monitoring, personnel management, and corporate compliance.
4. Position requires five years of managerial or supervisory experience with budgetary responsibility.
5. A Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or science and management experience in the electric generation industry is desirable
6. Ten years experience, with progressive increases in responsibilities, in startup, operations and maintenance of power plant equipment.
7. Maintain a valid driver's license.

Pay Range: $194,117.00 - $220,135.00
