Sales Engineers work in many industries, selling technological and scientific products and/or services. The sales engineer understands all parts and functions of a product, as well as the scientific processes behind it. A sales engineer will give presentations, speak with clients and engineers, help assess equipment needs, problem solve, and even, in some cases, arrange to modify products. Advanced products are the key sales area, but the ability to sell is critical, as in all sales jobs. Qualifications include strong interpersonal skills, experience, and bachelor’s and master’s in relevant fields.
