A Pharmaceutical Representative is a combination of sales representative and pharmacologist. The latter discipline is of great importance, due to the need for a pharmaceutical rep to be capable of properly explaining (potentially newly developed), products to physicians and other healthcare professionals. The rep must also have a complete understanding of the requirements of the healthcare professional being sold to, as well as all competing products. Qualifications include great people and communication skills, as well as at least a four-year bachelor’s degree from an accredited college.
