BAE Systems has an exciting opportunity for a Task Manager at our facility in York, PA. The Task Manager will support the execution of production-focused activities as part of an integrated program team responsible for delivering high-quality Bradley A4 vehicle systems to the U.S. Army. The position centers on managing manufacturing, assembly, quality, material flow, and production line readiness tasks. Success in this role requires strong oral and written communication skills and effective collaboration across functional teams to ensure timely issue resolution, sustained production performance, and consistent reporting to leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day execution of assigned production-related activities, including manufacturing, assembly, quality assurance, and material flow coordination.
- Develop and maintain task plans, schedules, and work product that aligns with production milestones and delivery schedules.
- Monitor production progress, identify risks or delays, and drive timely resolution by coordinating with manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and quality teams.
- Track task status, dependencies, and performance metrics; prepare clear and concise oral and written updates for internal leadership and customer engagements.
- Support labor, material, and cost tracking activities, including review of production data and EVMS metrics when applicable.
- Prepare and maintain reports, action-item logs, production documentation, and meeting records to support program cadence.
- Participate in daily production meetings, supplier meetings, and customer reviews, ensuring accurate communication, documentation, and timely follow-up.
- Lead cross-functional coordination to resolve production barriers, material shortages, and quality issues, ensuring sustained production flow.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of all production documentation and configuration-controlled work products.
- Support proposal and planning activities by providing cost, schedule, and production data inputs.
- Apply BAE Systems production processes, configuration control practices, and product lifecycle management principles.
Required Skills and Education- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey production status, issues, and recommendations.
- Aptitude for managing complex tasks to completion through coordinated cross-functional execution.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Understanding of project management concepts such as scope, schedule, risk, and cost.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
Preferred Skills and Education- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, project management, or related technical discipline.
- Experience supporting manufacturing, assembly, or production operations, ideally within the defense or heavy industrial sector.
- Exposure to Earned Value Management (EVM), scheduling tools, or production data analysis.
- Familiarity with vehicle systems, shop floor processes, or integration environments.
- Interest in pursuing project management certifications such as CAPM or PMP.
