Job DescriptionAs a player/coach, you will leverage your estensive technical experience by supporting the full lifecycle of a development program while also managing a group of software engineers.
Responsibilities:
- Provide supervision, mentoring, career development, and performance management for a team of 4-10 software engineers.
- Conduct one-on-one and section level meetings.
- Provide a safe, inclusive culture.
- Support recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of new team members to meet business needs.
- Use your technical skills and experience to ensure the design, implementation, and sustainment of our software solutions meet and exceed customer expectations.
- Support program execution through cost and schedule management, and metrics tracking.
- Collaborate with other functional managers and discipline leads to ensure program success.
- Be a major technical contributor to development programs
Required Skills and Education- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with leadership responsibilities in either a functional and/or technical role
- Must be able to obtain an active Secret clearance
- Ability to lead a medium to large groups
- Demonstrated ability to guide individuals through complicated or difficult situations effectively and professionally
- Experience with software and systems engineering processes, methodologies, and tools
- Deep knowledge in C++ or another High Level Programming Language
Preferred Skills and Education- Prior functional management experience (i.e. general supervision, performance management, staffing)
- Embedded software design and implementation
- Experience with electronic warfare
- Working knowledge of Atlassian Suite
- Experience with FACE or OMS Architectures
- Experience with MBSE
- Cost Account Management/Earned Value Management in a DoD environment
