Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Silicon Lab Engineer with strong hands-on laboratory experience in silicon validation, power and performance measurements, and characterization. The role will focus on CPU silicon activities, test chip validation, silicon power measurements, performance and power analysis, and development of test patterns for validation and characterization. The ideal candidate will have strong electrical or computer engineering fundamentals, hands-on experience with silicon laboratory equipment, and Python-based automation and data analysis skills.
Key Responsibilities:
• Own and drive CPU silicon activities within a silicon laboratory environment, including daily lab management, equipment oversight, and upgrades.
• Perform test chip validation and silicon power measurements while conducting in-depth performance and power analysis.
• Develop test patterns for power analysis, yield analysis, functionality testing, and speed testing.
• Develop data science-based methods to profile workloads for performance and power analysis and optimization.
• Perform device teardown activities, soldering, oscilloscope-based testing, wiring, BGA extraction, and rework activities.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience working in an electrical silicon laboratory using oscilloscopes, JTAG, and power analyzers.
• Experience with Python-based automation and scripting, including data analysis.
• Experience working with Android and iOS platforms.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, with an emphasis on computer architecture.
• Experience with iOS or Android system kernels.
• Experience with device calibration and trimming procedures.
• Experience with PCB-level mixed-signal validation or debugging on IPs such as temperature sensors, current sensors, droop detectors, ADCs, or Class-D amplifiers.
• Experience with PLLs, ADCs, current sensors, or ring oscillators.
