Job Summary:
The Automation Engineer will be responsible for designing and building AI-driven API automation solutions, with a strong focus on Java-based REST API automation testing. The role requires hands-on expertise in Cucumber-based BDD testing, strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, and the ability to independently lead testing initiatives. The engineer will also provide production deployment support and troubleshoot critical issues in high-pressure release environments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and build AI-driven API automation solutions with advanced hands-on expertise.
• Develop and execute automated tests for Java-based REST APIs.
• Write and execute BDD test scenarios using Cucumber.
• Mentor peers and independently lead testing initiatives.
• Perform detailed bug analysis and investigate application logs using Splunk.
• Create and maintain Splunk dashboards to support application monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Work independently and effectively in fast-paced environments.
• Perform functional, regression, and integration testing.
• Provide hands-on testing support during live production deployments and release windows.
• Troubleshoot critical production outages and issues while maintaining clear communication under high-pressure situations.
Required Qualifications:
• 6+ years of experience in software quality assurance and test automation.
• Advanced, hands-on experience designing and building AI-driven API automation solutions.
• Deep expertise in Java-based REST API automation testing.
• Hands-on experience with Cucumber and BDD frameworks.
• Strong bug analysis, troubleshooting, and log investigation skills.
• Hands-on experience with Splunk analysis and dashboard creation.
• Proven ability to mentor peers and lead testing initiatives independently.
• Strong ability to work autonomously in fast-paced environments.
• Solid understanding of functional, regression, and integration testing methodologies.
• Experience supporting production deployments and release windows.
• Ability to troubleshoot critical production issues and communicate effectively under high-pressure conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience designing and executing performance and load tests using JMeter.
• Experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
• Experience calculating and analyzing code coverage using JaCoCo for Java applications.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-based microservices environments for debugging and log retrieval.
• Experience with Tier 1 companies or Apple is preferred.
