Position Description:

The candidate for this role will be expected to be onsite five days a week at our client site in Pittsburgh PA.

For this role on this particular client engagement, employer sponsorship of immigration related visa and/or green card status as part of the PERM process will not be available.

CGI is looking for an experienced Senior Quality Engineer to join our Enterprise Document Management team, supporting our client which is a large US Bank, working in an advanced technology environment.

The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and executing quality engineering practices for the Document Management platform, focused on user-centric application capabilities and integration across existing enterprise systems. This role implements test architecture, automation frameworks, and validation strategies to ensure continuous quality across document access, metadata integrity, search (including vector-based semantic retrieval), and governance controls, while supporting AI-powered search and agentic workflows. Operating within an Agile delivery model, the Senior QE partners closely with engineering and delivery leadership to ensure solutions are secure, compliant, resilient, and production-ready, with a strong emphasis on automation, test observability, and audit readiness.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Quality Engineering Execution & Collaboration
. Execute the defined quality strategy and test approach in alignment with QE leadership
. Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and acceptance criteria definition to ensure testability
. Design test coverage and automation strategies across application and integration components
. Partner with engineers to enable shift-left testing and early defect detection
. Support definition and tracking of quality metrics such as defect leakage, test coverage, and validation accuracy
. Contribute to code reviews, test reviews, and continuous quality improvement initiatives

Document Management Application + Existing System Integration
. Design and execute end-to-end tests for document management workflows, including document submission, access, and retrieval across systems
. Validate search and retrieval capabilities, including: Metadata-driven and full-text search Vector-based semantic search (embedding similarity, relevance, ranking accuracy) Entitlement enforcement and context-aware results
. Develop and execute tests for metadata validation, taxonomy alignment, and data quality enforcement
. Validate document lifecycle and governance controls, including retention, audit logging, traceability, and compliance enforcement
. Test AI-powered retrieval and agentic workflows, ensuring accuracy, grounding, and regression stability
. Validate federated integration across multiple systems, ensuring consistency in document access, metadata alignment, and retrieval behavior
. Test API and event-driven integrations, including data integrity, message handling, retry logic, and failure scenarios
. Ensure end-to-end traceability and auditability across application and system integration layers
. Implement security and compliance testing, including RBAC validation, access controls, and data protection safeguards
. Support performance and scalability testing for search, retrieval, and cross-system interactions
. Build and maintain automated test suites and CI/CD-integrated validation pipelines
. Ensure strong test observability, including reporting of failures, coverage, performance trends, and quality metrics

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

. Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
. 5+ years of experience in quality engineering with strong focus on automation
. Strong programming skills in Python (preferred) or similar languages for test automation and API validation
. Experience testing API-driven, event-based, or distributed systems
. Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (App Services, Service Bus, Blob Storage, Azure SQL, AI/Search, DevOps)
. Experience validating document management, search platforms, or metadata-driven systems strong understanding of: Data quality and metadata validation Search and retrieval systems, including vector/semantic search concepts
. Experience testing security, RBAC, and compliance controls in regulated environments
. Familiarity with AI/ML, LLM-based retrieval, or intelligent automation testing is a plus
. Experience working in regulated industries (financial services preferred

Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $58,800.00 - $156,700.00.
