Job Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Senior .NET / C# Lead Developer to join the Online Security Technologies engineering team. This role is responsible for architecting, engineering, and supporting a mission-critical, enterprise-grade Authentication and Identity Platform. The position features an even 50/50 balance between systems architecture and design and hands-on coding, requiring an engineer who can design distributed, highly available systems while remaining directly involved in production code delivery. The role also includes mentoring engineering teams, driving modern Agile practices, and collaborating with cross-functional partners to deliver secure, low-latency, and high-throughput software releases.
Key Responsibilities
• Split time equally between architectural design and hands-on C#/.NET development, including prototyping, validating, and deploying scalable software solutions.
• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise Identity and Access Management (IAM) and credential management workflows connecting internal and client-facing systems.
• Drive software products through all delivery lifecycle stages, including development, QA, UAT, and production releases.
• Partner with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, QA, and operations teams to conduct story decomposition, task sizing, cost and effort estimations, and prioritization.
• Lead code reviews, enforce design standards, and mentor onshore and offshore developers in specification-driven development and software engineering best practices.
• Implement automated testing frameworks and practice Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• Integrate unit and functional tests into CI/CD pipelines to ensure software reliability.
• Troubleshoot complex production defects using log aggregation tools such as Splunk, metrics, and monitoring dashboards.
• Proactively identify technical debt and implement measures to mitigate technical risks.
• Provide architectural guidance and technical leadership for distributed, highly available, high-throughput, and fault-tolerant systems.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of hands-on application development experience using C# and the modern .NET ecosystem.
• Demonstrated expertise in server-side API engineering, including scalable microservices and RESTful web services.
• Experience with JSON/XML parsing.
• Strong full-stack development capabilities with hands-on UI development experience using Angular or React.
• 3+ years of technical leadership experience driving design standards, architectural patterns, and mentoring junior and mid-level engineers.
• Experience designing and operating distributed systems requiring high availability, high throughput, and fault tolerance.
• Proven experience working with enterprise Identity and Access Management (IAM) platforms and credential management.
• Experience with modern authentication protocols and technologies such as Ping Identity, Kerberos, and certificate-based authentication.
• Strong foundation in Test-Driven Development (TDD), automated testing frameworks, and Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working within financial services, FinTech, digital brokerage, or other security-critical environments.
• Practical knowledge of NoSQL and high-performance databases such as MongoDB and Aerospike.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, specifically Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Strong experience building and optimizing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Bamboo and Jenkins.
• Experience managing Git-based workflows using Bitbucket and Git.
• Practical exposure to AI development tools, LLM integration, and Specification-Driven Development frameworks.
• Experience with enterprise observability, telemetry, and distributed tracing platforms such as Splunk.
