Job Summary
The Senior Business Systems Analyst / Data Migration Specialist will support data transformation and migration initiatives between Salesforce and surrounding data ecosystems, including IBM DataStage, Snowflake, Tableau, and legacy applications. The role will work closely with business stakeholders, data teams, architects, developers, and QA teams to understand business requirements and translate them into clear data mapping, transformation, migration, reconciliation, and validation requirements. The position will also analyze downstream data dependencies and support successful system conversion and post-migration validation.
Key Responsibilities
Engage with business stakeholders to understand business processes, requirements, data usage, and reporting needs
Lead requirements gathering and facilitate discussions between business and technology teams
Analyze source and target systems to understand data structures, relationships, dependencies, and constraints
Define and document source-to-target mappings, business rules, transformation logic, and data migration requirements
Identify data quality issues, gaps, anomalies, duplicates, and migration risks
Work with stakeholders to determine appropriate approaches for data remediation
Perform data analysis and profiling using SQL and related tools
Collaborate with Data Engineers and ETL teams to support data migration and transformation activities
Support data reconciliation and validation to ensure data completeness and accuracy following migration
Define business acceptance criteria and support SIT, UAT, and post-migration validation activities
Analyze downstream impacts of migrated data, particularly for Tableau reporting and analytics
Work within data environments involving Salesforce, Snowflake, IBM DataStage, Tableau, and legacy applications
Communicate complex data issues, constraints, dependencies, risks, and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Required Qualifications
7+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Data Analyst, Data Migration Specialist, or related role, preferably within large enterprise environments
Strong experience with end-to-end data migration or system conversion projects
Excellent requirements elicitation and stakeholder management skills
Strong understanding of source-to-target mapping, data transformation, data profiling, data cleansing, reconciliation, and validation
Strong SQL and data analysis skills
Experience identifying and articulating data constraints, dependencies, risks, and business impacts
Deep understanding of reporting and downstream data dependencies
Strong documentation and communication skills
