Full Job Description
The Mechanisms Engineer will support the design, development, analysis, integration, and testing of precision mechanical systems for advanced aerospace applications, driving hardware development from concept through qualification and deployment.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop mechanical systems and mechanisms, performing trade studies and engineering analyses to optimize performance, reliability, and manufacturability
  • Create detailed mechanical designs, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation in accordance with engineering standards and program requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to support hardware integration, assembly, verification, and testing activities
  • Work with external suppliers and vendors to define technical requirements, review designs, and monitor development progress
  • Support environmental and qualification testing including vibration, thermal, and other performance evaluations while analyzing and documenting results
  • Investigate hardware anomalies, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to improve system performance and reliability
  • Define and validate mechanical interfaces between components and subsystems
  • Present technical data, design updates, and test results during internal and customer design reviews
  • Identify opportunities for design innovation, process improvements, and implementation of new technologies


Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, mechanical design, or hardware development supporting complex systems
  • Experience with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, NX, or similar design platforms
  • Familiarity with engineering analysis methods including finite element analysis (FEA)
  • Experience with PLM/PDM systems and engineering documentation management
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, manufacturing processes, product development, and system integration
  • Experience supporting hardware through the full product lifecycle from design through testing and delivery preferred
  • Aerospace, space systems, defense, or other high-performance industry experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline, Advanced degree preferred


Compensation:
  • Salary Range: $90,000 - $140,000 depending on experience + RSUs
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO (unlimited after 90 days), Sick Leave as required by law, and Holidays
  • Clearance Level: Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Location: 100% onsite in Lanham, MD
