What you will be doing:

The Wealth Data Product Owner owns the definition, governance, and delivery of Tangerine Wealth's business and dealer platform data, enabling scalable access through enterprise data fabric capabilities. The role ensures that Wealth enterprise data is translated into trusted, business-ready datasets, dashboards, and reports that power day-to-day operations, management oversight, and regulatory reporting across the Wealth business.

The role combines hands-on delivery of core dashboards with enablement of self-service reporting, operating within a hub-and-spoke model that empowers data-oriented individuals embedded within Wealth teams. As the product owner of Wealth data, it upholds data quality, governance, and readiness standards, and partners across Data Architecture, Engineering, centralized BI, Risk, Compliance, and Operations to deliver consistent, trusted data foundation that informs senior stakeholder decision-making and empowers data-oriented individuals within Wealth teams.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
  • Business Ownership of Wealth Data
    • Support the Senior Manager and act as a business owner for Wealth data domains (e.g., client, account, advisor, holdings, transactions, servicing events) sourced from all integrated dealer platforms (e.g., books of record, digital clickstream, CRM, ERP, and CCaaS).
    • Help build and own the client 360 ecosystem by defining requirements to structure relational and unstructured data (e.g., portal logins, feature engagement, advisor-client interaction logs) with core wealth platform infrastructure (e.g., custodian feeds, CRM logs).
    • Maintain clear business definitions, calculation logic, and usage guidance for platform data tables and fields, serving as the primary point of accountability for data meaning, interpretation, and appropriate reporting use.
    • Help design data mapping frameworks outlining source-to-target data mappings, transformation logic, and data quality acceptance criteria for complex multi-touch attribution models spanning multiple core banking and wealth systems.
    • Establish and manage certified business data products (e.g., curated datasets, governed reporting views) for consistent reuse.
    • Translate high-level business objectives into precise actionable data requirements and design specifications for data engineers.

  • Reporting & Dashboard Delivery
    • Design, build, and maintain core Wealth dashboards and reports, including digital, advisor, marketing, product, client, account and management-level views.
    • Translate business reporting needs into validated outputs aligned to approved definitions and controls.
    • Ensure all reports meet bank standards for accuracy, consistency, auditability, and control.

  • Data Enablement & Self-Service Capability
    • Establish and support a network of data-oriented individuals embedded within Wealth teams, acting as the central enablement hub for reporting data across the Wealth business.
    • Train and coach these individuals on:
      • Wealth data definitions and certified datasets
      • Standard reporting patterns and dashboards
      • Guardrails for safe, compliant self-service data usage
    • Provide documentation, templates, and examples that enable teams to independently produce accurate reports using approved data products.

  • Data Quality, Governance & Readiness
    • Help define business-level data quality expectations and acceptance criteria for reporting and AI/ML consumption use.
    • Maintain data governance and lineage documentation that maps where Wealth data originates, how it is transformed, and how users can access it.
    • Automate Compliance and Regulatory pipelines for the data extraction required for trade supervision and business and financial operations regulatory filings (e.g., Form 1).
    • Validate data readiness prior to release into production.
    • Maintain documentation and runbooks to support stable reporting through platform changes and BAU operations.

  • Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Leadership
    • Partner with Data Architecture and Engineering teams responsible for ingestion, pipelines, and physical data models, providing business requirements and acceptance criteria.
    • Partner with Technology, Data Architecture, and vendor teams to identify, triage, and resolve data issues impacting reporting.
    • Collaborate with centralized BI, Risk, Compliance, and Operations teams to ensure reporting data is governed and fit for purpose, and aligned with enterprise reporting standards, ensuring a single source of truth across corporate reporting assets.
    • Influence senior Wealth stakeholders by providing consistent, trusted data foundations for operational oversight.

  • 7+ years of experience in data, reporting, or information management roles within financial services or similarly regulated environments
  • Comprehensive understanding of the wealth management and hybrid digital wealth management domain.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL for relational database querying, data extraction, filtering, mapping and validation and/or Python for programmatic logic, data cleaning and transformation (e.g., Pandas/NumPy), analysis, and automation.
  • Solid grasp of relational data modelling, schema design, and Master Data Management; familiarity with AI/ML concepts is an asset.
  • Hands-on familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake) and/or digital analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics 4), and strong proficiency with dashboard and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI or equivalent).
  • A data-first product mindset, with proven experience owning business data definitions, data backlog, prioritizing deliverables by business ROI, and translating complex platform data into business-ready reporting assets through detailed requirement documentation (PRDs/BRDs) and source-to-target data mappings
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a focus on execution and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to enable and coach non-technical stakeholders to self-serve data responsibly, with strong stakeholder management skills partnering across Technology, Advisors, Operations, Business Controls/Risk, and centralized BI teams.
  • Excellent executive-level communication and presentation skills.
