Job Summary The IT Research Business Systems Analyst will provide functional and technical analysis, implementation, and support for enterprise financial and research administration systems, with a focus on Oracle Cloud Grants, Projects, and Accounts Receivable (AR). The role involves analyzing business practices, processes, and complex system issues; gathering and translating business requirements into functional specifications; supporting implementations, enhancements, upgrades, and system maintenance; and performing data analysis and system integrity reviews. The analyst will work independently with business stakeholders and Enterprise Applications teams and may lead cross-functional teams in resolving complex business and systems issues. Key Responsibilities • Provide daily end-user support and triage highly complex system problems using incident management procedures and ticketing systems. • Perform extensive data analysis and system integrity reviews to identify and resolve system and business process issues. • Gather and document operational requirements from end users and key business stakeholders. • Organize and translate business requirements into functional specifications for coordination with development resources. • Execute system design, documentation, knowledge management, fixes, enhancements, upgrades, and related activities within established Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) procedures. • Support new implementations and functionality across financial and administrative systems. • Provide functional expertise for Oracle Cloud Grants, Projects, and Accounts Receivable implementations and support. • Support applications and services involving PeopleSoft modules for Grants, Contracts, Projects, Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and General Ledger. • Support related applications and integrations serving research functions and other business areas, including Student AR and Sundry Billing. • Validate business and system requirements against organizational needs and develop appropriate solutions. • Contribute to process design, data and information architecture, system specifications, automated system design, and user interface design as required. • Plan and execute unit, integration, and end-user acceptance testing for system implementations, enhancements, and changes. • Create training materials and support change management activities for system implementations and ongoing system support. • Collaborate with the Enterprise Applications Team to ensure successful implementation and support of financial and administrative systems. • Collaborate with and lead cross-functional teams to resolve highly complex business and systems issues. • Work with stakeholders in a predominantly independent capacity while leveraging advanced knowledge of supported applications and business processes. • Support evolving modules and business processes and adapt responsibilities as organizational needs change. Required Qualifications • Functional experience with Oracle Cloud Grants, Projects, and Accounts Receivable (AR) implementation and support. • Strong experience in technology-based analysis of business practices, processes, and complex system problems. • Experience gathering, documenting, analyzing, and translating business requirements into functional specifications. • Experience supporting enterprise financial and administrative applications and related integrations. • Experience with PeopleSoft modules including Grants, Contracts, Projects, Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and General Ledger. • Experience with incident management, ticketing systems, end-user support, system troubleshooting, and issue triage. • Strong data analysis and system integrity review capabilities. • Experience working within established SDLC procedures covering system design, documentation, fixes, enhancements, upgrades, and implementations. • Experience planning and executing unit, integration, and end-user acceptance testing. • Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyze complex issues that may lack established precedent or structure. • Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and provide technical and functional leadership in complex areas. • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with end users, business stakeholders, development resources, and cross-functional teams.
