What you'll be doing

You'll be joining CIBC's Distribution and Cards Technology ECRM Team. You'll be hands on with all aspects of the systems testing process and provide suggestions that will ensure client needs are met with the highest quality. As a Test Consultant, you'll be a team lead on the CIBC's enterprise Salesforce CRM, assigning and overseeing the execution of test cases and providing coaching to your team members. You'll create test plans, develop strategies, and provide estimates that will help create the bank of the future.

The Consultant, IT Quality Assurance is responsible for developing project test strategies and plans and overseeing testing activities for projects and initiatives in compliance with established controls and standards. The role works on complex issues involving one or more technical areas, mentoring employees and performing tasks of advanced technical depth and breadth. The Consultant, IT Quality Assurance troubleshoots issues for all levels, identifying project testing approaches and methods for incorporation into the testing plan, and execution to assign test work packages, and lead testing teams. The role exercises independent judgement and decision making within ownership of projects and milestones, analyzing and resolving unusual testing challenges to facilitate decision making with client and senior management. The role devises new methods and procedures using strong analytic and inductive thinking.

  • Testing expertise - Lead the investigation and translation of business requirements into test cases. Design and manage end-to-end testing activities for various projects across the business. Use your expertise in software development testing to provide clients with quality products that meet business and system requirements.
  • Leadership skills - Provide advice to your team, including ongoing feedback, support, and mentorship. Proactively identify any potential issues throughout all test phases, and suggest possible improvements or enhancements.
  • Project coordination - Identify obstacles or risks that may impact a project's timeline or success and provide regular status updates to the business. Keep the lines of communication open with stakeholders, and escalate issues when necessary. Ensure that all test deliverables are received, approved, and aligned to your project's timeline, budget and goals.
