JOB SUMMARY
The Snowflake Data Architect will lead the design, architecture, and implementation of enterprise-scale data platforms and modernization initiatives leveraging Snowflake and AWS technologies. This role will be responsible for delivering cloud-native data solutions, large-scale data transformations, migration programs, and advanced analytics capabilities while ensuring scalability, governance, security, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Snowflake, AWS data services, data engineering, data architecture, and modern Lakehouse architectures, particularly within insurance or financial services environments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead enterprise data architecture initiatives supporting large-scale data transformation and modernization programs.
• Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance Snowflake data platforms on AWS.
• Architect and develop data acquisition, ingestion, integration, and transformation pipelines for structured and unstructured data sources.
• Design and implement ETL/ELT frameworks using AWS Glue, Snowflake Openflow, Apache Airflow, and related technologies.
• Develop and manage data transformation frameworks using dbt (Data Build Tool) to ensure modular, reusable, testable, and version-controlled data models.
• Design and implement modern Lakehouse architectures, including Medallion Architecture patterns.
• Lead migration initiatives from legacy platforms such as Cloudera to Snowflake.
• Design and optimize Snowflake environments for scalability, performance, security, and cost efficiency.
• Perform Snowflake query optimization, workload management, and resource monitoring.
• Architect and support enterprise data warehousing, analytics, reporting, and business intelligence solutions.
• Design and develop Streamlit applications and data products utilizing Snowflake ML and LLMOps capabilities.
• Evaluate emerging data platforms, governance tools, security solutions, and metadata management technologies.
• Develop and maintain enterprise data models, data dictionaries, metadata repositories, and data lineage frameworks.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, consistency, and governance across the data ecosystem.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, data engineers, developers, and analytics teams to deliver business-aligned solutions.
• Support data governance initiatives including master data management, metadata management, data retention, and regulatory compliance.
• Document architecture designs, solution blueprints, data flows, integration patterns, and transformation logic.
• Establish best practices for cloud-native data engineering, security, and operational support models.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to engineering and architecture teams.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Extensive experience in Data Architecture and Data Engineering.
• Proven experience leading large-scale data transformation and modernization programs.
• Experience within Insurance, Financial Services, Banking, or highly regulated industries.
• Deep expertise in architecting and implementing Snowflake-based enterprise data platforms on AWS.
• Strong experience designing and implementing data ingestion, integration, and transformation frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with:
o Snowflake
o AWS Glue
o Snowflake Openflow
o Apache Airflow
o dbt (Data Build Tool)
• Experience building and supporting cloud-native ETL/ELT data pipelines.
• Strong expertise in Lakehouse Architecture and Medallion Architecture implementations.
• Proven experience migrating enterprise workloads from Cloudera to Snowflake.
• Experience designing enterprise data warehouses and modern analytics platforms.
• Strong expertise in Snowflake performance tuning, optimization, workload management, and resource governance.
• Experience designing and developing Streamlit applications.
• Knowledge of Snowflake Machine Learning (ML) and LLMOps capabilities.
• Strong proficiency in:
o SQL
o Python
o Java
• Experience with data modeling, dimensional modeling, and enterprise data architecture best practices.
• Strong understanding of data lifecycle management, data retention policies, and cloud architecture principles.
• Experience implementing enterprise data governance, metadata management, and data quality frameworks.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.

• Knowledge of AI/ML operational frameworks and advanced analytics platforms.
• Experience supporting cloud-native DevOps and DataOps practices.
• Experience working in Agile and enterprise transformation environments.
