Description & RequirementsAs an Audio Software Engineer , you will develop and support the core technology that brings our audio experiences to life. You will collaborate closely with Audio Artists, Designers, and fellow Software Engineers to build innovative audio features, authoring tools, and robust workflows for systems such as sound effects, commentary, and crowd dynamics. You will own audio features across all development phases-from architectural design and implementation to profiling, debugging, optimization, and multi-platform release.
Your Responsibilities
- Partner closely with Audio Artists, Designers, and Engineers to bring new audio experiences and sports realism to life.
- Architect and implement scalable runtime audio systems, authoring tools, and content pipelines.
- Work with multidisciplinary teams on requirements analysis and technical design for new features.
- Profile, debug, and optimize audio systems across multiple platforms with consideration for memory, CPU usage, and low-latency execution.
- Leverage and extend the Frostbite audio toolset to enhance audio authoring workflows and developer efficiency.
Your Qualifications

- 3+ years of professional software or game development experience, preferably within large, multiplatform codebases.
- Strong proficiency in C++ with a solid foundation in object-oriented design, data structures, and modern software engineering best practices.
- Experience developing, maintaining, and debugging production-level software or game engine systems.
- Background in developing audio technology or real-time audio systems with an interest in audio technology and creating high-quality interactive audio experiences.
- Experience in utilizing AI-assisted development tools (e.g. coding agents) to rapid prototype, accelerate execution and automate workflows, with the ability to critically review and validate AI-generated code.
- Understanding of memory management, multithreading, and runtime optimization.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to partner effectively across both technical and non-technical disciplines.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent training and professional experience.
Pay Transparency - North AmericaCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).
PAY RANGES* British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$104,500 - $142,800 CAD
