What is the opportunity?

Join RBC Capital Markets' Global Corporate Banking Technology team as a Development Lead driving AI-powered modernization across our enterprise. You will build scalable solutions that set technical standards for multiple business lines, from Corporate Banking to Commercial, while defining how our teams leverage cutting-edge AI development practices. This is a rare opportunity to shape technical vision at scale, working directly with senior stakeholders to transform complex operational processes into elegant, enterprise-grade systems. You will lead by example, coding alongside your team, establishing reusable patterns, and driving innovation that delivers measurable business impact across QTS.

What will you do?
  • Architect and build scalable React and .NET Core solutions, establishing reusable patterns and technical standards across the organization
  • Integrate AI-driven development practices (AI-DLC) into team workflows, establishing guardrails and standards for responsible AI-assisted coding
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to drive technical vision and architectural decisions for next-generation frontend and backend solutions
  • Conduct technical assessments to identify optimization opportunities in existing systems, prioritizing improvements that accelerate delivery
  • Develop AI-assisted proof-of-concept solutions and prototypes using modern LLM tools to rapidly validate architectural approaches
  • Establish standards and frameworks that enable development teams to build robust, maintainable solutions with confidence
  • Champion continuous integration and delivery best practices to enhance code quality, deployment frequency, and system reliability
  • Mentor development teams through complex technical challenges, providing hands-on guidance on architecture, code quality, and best practices


What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:
  • Strong development experience in multi-tier applications based on REACT, .NET Core C# (REST API's, Microservices)
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in a similar software development or technical role.
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development workflows (AI-DLC), including prompt engineering, code generation tools, and responsible AI practices
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into technical architecture and lead implementation from concept to production
  • Experience with relational database programming (e.g. Sybase, SQL Server) and object stores (MongoDB)
  • Experience working within professional software engineering practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source code management, build processes and testing


Nice-to-have:
  • Experience with implementing user interface libraries such as Material-UI
  • Experience with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipeline tools (GitHub, Jenkins, Nexus)
  • Understanding of Capital Markets Lending: Origination, Limit Management and/or Servicing
  • Experience working in an agile environment
