Vice President, Insurance, Claims & Strategy

Location: Miami, FL or New York, NY (Hybrid Only)

Travel: Light, as needed

Overview

Aon is seeking a Vice President, Insurance, Claims & Strategy to support a private equity and investment management client with executive liability, cyber, and related insurance programs. This role will oversee complex claims activity, assist with insurance program renewals, and provide guidance to portfolio companies on risk management and insurance matters.

The position supports a $150M+ multi-layer insurance program involving more than 12 insurers and covering the firm, its officers and directors, and a global portfolio of companies. Success in this role requires strong expertise in D&O and Cyber insurance, sound business judgment, and the ability to work effectively with legal, finance, operations, and executive leadership teams.

Key Responsibilities

Claims Management
  • Oversee day-to-day handling of D&O, Cyber, E&O, and related executive liability claims.
  • Develop claims strategies that maximize coverage and reduce financial exposure.
  • Coordinate claim activity across insurers, brokers, counsel, and internal stakeholders.
  • Support complex, high-severity, and cross-border matters involving senior executives and portfolio companies.

Insurance Programs & Renewals
  • Support annual renewals for D&O, Cyber, and other management liability programs.
  • Review policy language, endorsements, exclusions, and coverage enhancements.
  • Assist with underwriting submissions, tower design, market analysis, and pricing strategy.
  • Monitor emerging risks and insurance market developments to inform program decisions.

Insurer, Broker & Portfolio Company Support
  • Build productive relationships with insurers and broker partners.
  • Evaluate broker performance and service delivery.
  • Advise portfolio companies on insurance program design, placement, and claims best practices.
  • Support acquisitions, exits, and other transactions involving insurance considerations.

Governance & Reporting
  • Maintain claims tracking, reporting, and governance processes.
  • Manage multiple claims and renewal activities simultaneously.
  • Deliver analysis and reporting to senior leadership.

Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in claims, executive liability underwriting, insurance law, or insurance program management.
  • Experience handling D&O and Cyber claims in complex corporate, financial services, or asset management environments.
  • Familiarity with multi-layer insurance structures and multiple-carrier programs.

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $150,000 - $185,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
