Job Title:

Technical Product Manager

Job Description

Preferred Locations: Frisco, TX, Atlanta, GA - This is Hybrid role.

Technical Product Manager (TPM)

As a Technical Product Manager, you will define why a product exists, where it is going, and how it delivers measurable value. You will own product direction across assigned platforms and initiatives, align stakeholders across the enterprise, and guide roadmap decisions that balance innovation, compliance, risk reduction, platform health, and business outcomes. This role is ideal for a technically fluent product leader who can translate ambiguity into clear direction and bring teams together to deliver with confidence.

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain the long-term product vision and strategic roadmap at the group, solution, or platform level.
  • Establish success metrics, outcome targets, and value measures that connect platform capabilities to business priorities, compliance needs, and risk reduction.
  • Balance roadmap delivery with platform health needs, including defects, patches, improvements, and technical sustainability.
  • Keep roadmaps current, transparent, and effectively socialized with business, technology, and risk stakeholders.
  • Identify the highest-value problems to solve and clearly articulate why they matter now.
  • Drive prioritization across initiatives and quarters, making informed go/no-go investment decisions.
  • Ensure initiative sequencing aligns with enterprise strategy and avoids duplicate builds across programs.
  • Maintain deep working knowledge of assigned platforms and verticals, including interfaces, capabilities, functions, integrations, and dependencies.
  • Serve as the technical and solution point of contact for your product area.
  • Own capability- and feature-level design, including the creation and upkeep of detailed design documentation that reflects key solution decisions.
  • Partner with QA and Solution Architecture to identify, validate, and support key test cases.
  • Own end-to-end delivery of assigned initiatives, from planning through launch and post-launch outcome tracking.
  • Support test and launch phases directly, including defect triage with QA and release bridge participation with Release Management.
  • Maintain Jira hygiene across assigned work, including SOX and audit compliance expectations.
  • Anticipate risks, blockers, and dependencies; escalate early and clearly when support is needed.
  • Maintain backup coverage plans to ensure business continuity when out of office.

Lead quarterly planning activities based on scope:

Group level: Partner with business stakeholders to prepare Initiative Requirements Documents, initiative phasing, Jira capabilities, and balanced quarterly goals.

Solution level: Validate platform impacts, coordinate with impacted teams, and ensure cross-domain considerations are detailed before planning.

Platform level: Assess platform-impacting initiatives, identify synergies or conflicts, promote reuse, and determine feasibility within quarterly capacity.

  • Align across Legal, Privacy, Security, Architecture, business, QA, engineering, and other key stakeholder groups.
  • Translate regulatory and business requirements into clear, actionable product direction.
  • Communicate progress, risks, decisions, and tradeoffs with honesty, clarity, and confidence.
  • Partner closely with Technical Product Owners and Team Coaches while maintaining clear ownership boundaries: the TPM determines whether the product should be built and whether it achieved its outcomes; the TPO determines whether it is ready to build and safe to ship.
  • Demonstrate innovation, accountability, ownership, proactivity, collaboration, transparency, and continuous growth in day-to-day work.

Qualifications

  • 5–8 years of experience in technical product management, product ownership, solution architecture, or a comparable technical delivery role.
  • Demonstrated ownership of a product or platform roadmap, including prioritization tradeoffs and measurable outcome delivery.
  • Strong technical fluency, including the ability to read design documentation, reason through integrations and APIs, ask strong engineering questions, and serve as a credible technical point of contact.
  • Hands-on experience in Agile environments using Jira, including backlog structure, quarterly or PI planning, and audit-grade hygiene.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority, including engineering, QA, architecture, business, legal, privacy, security, and risk partners.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to turn ambiguous business needs into defensible product direction.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in telecommunications or another large-scale regulated enterprise environment.
  • Familiarity with SOX, PCI, privacy, or other compliance frameworks and how they influence product decisions.
  • Experience with platform-level capacity planning and multi-program dependency management.
  • Prior hands-on experience in engineering, data, architecture, or technical delivery.
