Systems Engineer

Job Summary

B&A is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Enterprise Database Infrastructure Services in Dayton, Ohio. If you are interested and meet the qualifications below, we encourage you to apply for this exciting and impactful opportunity.

  • Period of Performance: 1 Base Year + 2 Option Years

Location
  • Dayton, Ohio

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for effective provisioning, operation, installation/configuration and maintenance of systems hardware/software/related infrastructure.
  • Provide technical support, guidance and hands-on delivery in the planning, implementation and ongoing operation of databases.
  • The Systems Engineer shall participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure.
  • Ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values and regulatory requirements.
  • The Systems Engineer shall document specifications, project plans, configurations, test plans and results.
  • Depicts complex ideas, issues and designs to varied audiences; communicates project objectives, scope and status to project teams.

Education and Experience
  • Five (5) years of overall professional experience in the engineering field.
  • Must have at least five (5) years of experience working with DLA IT systems.
  • Experience serving in the following roles/functions:

o Database Architect

o Replication Expert

o Database Encryption Expert

o LDAP/Certificate Authentication Expert

o Disaster Recovery/COOP Expert

o Database Security Expert

o High Availability Expert
  • Expert knowledge and practical experience within DoD IT database management technology stacks, including planning and implementing database and/or Application Server implementations.
  • Demonstrated experience planning, implementing, and negotiating large-sized technology projects supporting business initiatives.
  • Experience initiating, planning, mentoring, executing, controlling, and delivering working projects.

Required Certifications
  • Current DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification: Category IAT Level II
  • Current Oracle OCP 19c or higher

Security Clearance
  • Active Secret, adjudicated within the last five (5) years
