Position Description:

As a Systems Engineer at CGI Federal, you will lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of complex systems for a federal law enforcement agency's classified environment. This role involves hands-on systems engineering combined with client-facing consulting, translating mission requirements into robust system architectures, mentoring junior engineers, and advising stakeholders on system strategy, metrics, and governance.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Design, implement, and support complex systems for a federal law enforcement agency's classified data processing systems directorate.
Monitor, analyze, and optimize system performance across classified environments to ensure reliability, scalability, and security.
Collaborate with cybersecurity, network, and software development teams to integrate systems, develop use cases, and support deployment and maintenance activities.
Support system authorization and continuous monitoring activities, maintain comprehensive system documentation, and ensure solutions align with federal standards and mission requirements.
Lead system strategy workshops, roadmap development, and stakeholder presentations.
Architect system integration pipelines, develop system specifications, dashboards, and KPIs.
Align system development to NIST SP 800-53 and ISCM requirements.
Extend system capabilities to AWS/Azure/GCP and integrate with automation and orchestration tools.
Establish content lifecycle governance and mentor junior staff.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
Minimum of four years in systems engineering with expertise in designing and implementing secure systems in classified environments.
One or more of the following certifications:
Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP)
AWS Certified Solutions Architect
Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
Desired:

Master's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience in federal government or diplomatic environment at the department level or experience supporting classified environments within federal law enforcement or Intelligence Community organizations.
Experience integrating systems with cybersecurity tools, network infrastructure, and cloud platforms.
Experience with systems in hybrid/zero-trust architectures.
Knowledge of NIST cybersecurity frameworks (800-53, 800-171, 800-190).
Additional cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP)
