What You Will Do The Production Supply Chain & Logistics Group (SCL-3) seek dynamic, customer-focused Supply Chain Engineers to support production activities at Technical Area 55 (TA-55). In this role, one will serve as a key liaison between production customers, engineering teams, quality personnel, suppliers, and procurement organizations. The primary responsibility will be to ensure that material needs are clearly defined, properly sourced, and aligned with production schedules and quality requirements. Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Collaborate with Project and Program Managers, Product Engineers, Process Engineers, and quality personnel to identify material needs and capture all technical, quality, and procurement requirements. Provide technical recommendations for material selection based on supply chain availability, quality standards, and production constraints. Support supplier management activities, including identifying vendors, conducting supplier evaluations, participating in site visits, and contributing to supplier development initiatives. Develop thorough and compliant procurement packages consisting of quality assurance requirements, statements of work, material specifications, and supporting exhibits. Serve as the supply chain subject matter expert in Integrated Project Team and Product Realization Team meetings. Provide clear and concise information regarding material status, risks, constraints, and procurement activities. Build in-depth knowledge of customer material requirements, production priorities, and schedules within your assigned scope area. Manage and maintain consolidated bill of material data to support effective material planning, procurement, and production execution. Identify supply chain risks and work collaboratively with SCL Risk Engineering personnel and other stakeholders to develop robust mitigation strategies. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance material readiness, process efficiency, and customer service. Assist with interpreting and applying complex, integrated, and overlapping requirements related to production material purchases. Support the evaluation and procurement of materials used in nuclear facilities and other highly regulated environments. Develop proficiency in applying quality assurance principles and requirements that are established within applicable quality programs. Review engineering design packages and assist in identifying required materials and developing material takeoffs. Communicate supply chain concerns, material status, risks, and recommended actions to both technical and nontechnical audiences. Serve as a Procurement Technical Subject Matter Expert by preparing complete procurement packages, including quality requirements, statements of work, specifications, and other supporting documentation. Complete and maintain all required training and qualifications necessary to effectively perform assigned job responsibilities. Knowledge of industry, regulatory, or DOE/NNSA complex specific codes and standards. An active DOE Q-level clearance. Work Location: The work location for this position is hybrid and is located in Los Alamos, New Mexico. Hybrid is defined as working partially onsite/partially offsite but within 2 hours ground commute of this location. This is not a Telework or Remote position. All work locations are at the discretion of management and can change at any time with appropriate notice. Work Schedule: This position may/will require 24/7 coverage, which could/will involve working a shift/weekend schedule.
