Full Job Description
The opportunity: AI coding agents now write code 100x faster than humans can review it, but new bottlenecks mean companies aren't shipping as fast as their agents can write code. We believe the major bottleneck is correctness, and it's shifting from human code review to continuous, production-grounded validation at every stage of software delivery.

Bits Release is an early-stage product that carries every change through the release lifecycle: it reviews the code, validates the change before merge, follows the rollout through staging and production, detects regressions, simulates and proposes fixes, and converts what it catches into permanent safeguards. It fuses Datadog's production signals coupled with newer capabilities like Bits Testing and Live Debugger in a single agentic harness, so companies can ship at the speed their agents write.

What you'll do:
  • Own the vision, narrative, and roadmap for Bits Release end to end, from pre-merge to continuous production validation.
  • Partner with customers, internal software engineers and design on a developer experience that earns developers' trust and gets out of the way once it's earned.
  • Drive packaging and pricing to a decision (per-investigation consumption vs. continuous platform capability) with finance and product leadership.
  • Treat agent quality as the product. Own the evals, reliability targets, and KPIs that prove Bits Release works, and keep proving it as it scales.
  • Work with senior engineers who expect you to track the AI frontier, hold technical opinions, and stay close to customers.
  • Partner with product marketing, advocacy, and sales to take Bits Release from preview to GA, with a story that lands for the SREs who buy it and the developers who use it.

Who you are:
  • 6+ years of product management (or 4+ with a deep technical background), with meaningful time on developer tools, CI/CD, observability, or SRE/platform products.
  • You've shipped an LLM or agentic product: you know what good evals look like, how to debug nondeterministic systems, and how to weigh cost, latency, and quality tradeoffs in production.
  • You use AI coding agents daily and have strong opinions about what releasing software means two to three years from now.
  • Deep SDLC fluency: PR workflows, CI systems, deployment strategies (canary, blue-green, feature flags, progressive rollout), and production signals (traces, logs, RUM, synthetics, error tracking).
  • You're at your best when the problem is still ambiguous.
  • You're an exceptional writer and speaker. We write, sharpen, and defend our narratives continuously, often to executive audiences.

Bonus points:
  • Background as a software engineer, SRE, or platform engineer.
  • Experience with sandboxed code execution, test generation, or replay systems.
  • Exposure to a broader set of tooling and signals like product analytics, session replays, APM or RUM.

Datadog values people from all walks of life. We understand not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That's okay. If you're passionate about technology and want to grow your skills, we encourage you to apply.

Benefits & Growth:
  • New hire stock equity (RSUs) and employee stock purchase plan (ESPP)
  • Continuous professional development, product training, and career pathing
  • Intra-departmental mentor and buddy program for in-house networking
  • An inclusive company culture, ability to join our Community Guilds
  • Access to Inclusion Talks, our Internal panel discussions
  • Free, global Spring Health benefits for employees and dependents age 6+
  • Competitive global benefits

Benefits and Growth listed above may vary based on the country of your employment and the nature of your employment with Datadog.
