Qualifications

• 5+ years of applied ML/AI experience in production settings, particularly in high-stakes domains related to fraud or security.
• 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, particularly in backend or infrastructure roles.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in building and managing all components around ML systems, including pipelines, serving, and monitoring.
• Proficient in modern AI tools and able to identify when to leverage frontier models versus traditional ML approaches.
• Experience with large language model systems, including aspects like evaluation and prompt engineering.
• Familiarity with the agent/MCP ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Design, train, and deploy ML systems for governance and security capabilities.
• Build supportive infrastructure such as data pipelines and model serving mechanisms.
• Make strategic build-vs-buy decisions utilizing both custom and existing solutions.
• Establish technical direction for the team's ML projects and systems.
• Mentor and help recruit new team members as the organization grows.
• Participate in on-call rotations and carry pager responsibilities for services built and operated.
