PayPal, Inc. seeks Sr Software Engineer in San Jose, CA

Job Duties: Build and refine cloud platform using cutting-edge tools like Kubernetes for container orchestration, Ansible and Terraform for infrastructure management, and distributed systems that ensure scalability and resilience. Empower IT-secured, developer-friendly environments that streamline application building, deployment, and management, both on-premises and in cloud settings. Analyze diverse use cases and guide the team in making informed design and technical choices that align with business objectives. Work closely with teams, ensuring all implementations support functionality, scalability, and security. Design and deploy scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Implement and manage cloud services, including storage, compute, and security services. Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure performance. Collaborate with development teams to integrate cloud solutions into existing workflows. Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related field plus five years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

1. Linux/Unix environment (5 years)

2. Cloud services (5 years)

3. Experience with infrastructure as code tools (5 years)

4. Scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash). (5 years)

5. Containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). (5 years)

6. Networking concepts and security best practices. (5 years)

7. Go Programming (4 years)

Additional Responsibilities & Preferred Qualifications:

The base pay for this role will depend on where you work and the relevant experience and expertise you bring. The expected range of pay for this role by location is:

Primary Location | Pay Range:

San Jose, California | Salary: $169,262.00-243,500.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Additional compensation for this role may include an annual performance bonus, equity, or other incentive compensation, as applicable.
