PayPal, Inc. seeks Sr Software Engineer in San Jose, CA

Job Duties: Design and implement backend software products and solutions. Participate in project planning, estimation, and tracking to ensure the timely delivery of software components. Develop new features and modules within the existing and new platforms that meet the design requirements for proper user accessibility. Optimize system performance and reliability. Develop automated tests and deliver high-quality software code to production within a short development cycle in the continuous integration and delivery environment. Design and implement RESTful services, focusing on scalability and reliability. Drive architecture discussions, produce well-documented design docs, and participate in design and code reviews to ensure code is reliable, maintainable, and follows best practices. Partial telecommuting permitted within a commutable distance.

Minimum Requirements: Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field plus two years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field plus five years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

5. Algorithmic techniques and design patterns (2 years)

Additional Responsibilities & Preferred Qualifications:

The base pay for this role will depend on where you work and the relevant experience and expertise you bring. The expected range of pay for this role by location is:

Primary Location | Pay Range:

San Jose, California | $169,262.00-243,500.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Additional compensation for this role may include an annual performance bonus, equity, or other incentive compensation, as applicable.
