Full Job Description
The Role:

The Senior Product Manager will independently lead a strategically important product area from problem identification through measurable market outcomes. Operating at the intersection of customer needs, business priorities, service operations, and technical feasibility, this person will establish product direction, make difficult tradeoffs, and align cross-functional teams around clear outcomes.

This is a hands-on senior individual contributor role requiring both strategic leadership and deep engagement in discovery, planning, execution, launch, and performance evaluation.

Success requires operating with limited day-to-day direction, bringing evidence-based recommendations rather than simply gathering requirements, anticipating risks, and being accountable for customer and business results.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Strategy & Outcomes

  • Own the strategy, measurable outcomes, and multi-quarter roadmap for a significant product area spanning multiple workflows, systems, or teams.
  • Translate company objectives, customer needs, and market opportunities into clear investment priorities and product direction.
  • Recommend where to invest, maintain, simplify, partner, or discontinue based on customer value, commercial impact, technical feasibility, and operational scalability.
  • Define success measures before investment and use performance data to adjust product direction, scope, or resourcing.

Customer, Market & Discovery

  • Develop deep insight into users, buyers, and operational stakeholders through direct engagement, research, market analysis, and product data.
  • Identify and validate the most important problems to solve, distinguishing strategic needs from individual requests.
  • Assess competitors, market trends, regulatory requirements, and ecosystem developments to inform differentiation and product direction.
  • Lead discovery from problem validation through solution testing, MVP definition, and evidence-based investment recommendations.

Execution & Product Health

  • Translate validated problems into outcome-based requirements, scope boundaries, and appropriately sequenced increments.
  • Partner with Engineering and UX to evaluate options and tradeoffs, manage dependencies, and provide the context needed for high-quality execution.
  • Establish initiative and release goals; proactively manage risks, assumptions, dependencies, and changes that could affect commitments.
  • Balance near-term delivery with scalability, reliability, security, technical debt, and long-term product health.

Commercialization

  • Shape commercialization strategy for major launches, including target segments, value proposition, pricing, packaging, positioning, adoption, and success metrics.
  • Build business cases that quantify customer value, revenue or retention impact, operating impact, investment needs, and key risks.
  • Partner with Marketing, Sales, Finance, Customer Success, and Operations to drive launch readiness, enablement, adoption, and lifecycle growth.
  • Serve as the product expert in strategic customer conversations, deal support, and executive briefings.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Align senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams around product direction, priorities, tradeoffs, and accountability for outcomes.
  • Make or recommend difficult decisions when customer, commercial, technical, and operational priorities conflict.
  • Communicate roadmap recommendations, business cases, risks, delivery outlooks, and results clearly to executive and frontline audiences.
  • Model strong product practices and provide informal coaching and thought partnership to peers.

The Desired Attributes:

  • 7+ years of Product Management experience, including 4+ years in a SaaS environment.
  • Demonstrated success independently owning a substantial product area from strategy and discovery through delivery, commercialization, adoption, and performance measurement.
  • Experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives involving multiple teams, significant dependencies, and substantial ambiguity.
  • Strong judgment in prioritization and tradeoffs across customer value, commercial impact, technical investment, delivery capacity, and operational needs.
  • Proven ability to define measurable outcomes, build business cases, and use evidence to change product direction or investment decisions.
  • Exceptional communication and influence skills, including the ability to align executives, anticipate and manage risk, and maintain confidence as assumptions or plans change.
  • Strong product discovery and agile delivery experience, with a record of creating clarity and elevating product practices across a team.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas.

The Benefits:
  • Competitive Salary
  • Exceptional Benefits:
    • 401(k) plan with company matching & immediate vesting schedule (100% of the 1st 3% and 50% of the next 2%)
    • BCBS Health, Dental, & Vision Insurance with generous employer funding for employees and dependents
    • Generous flexible time off approach
  • Professional development
  • Remote and hybrid first organization
  • Great working environment with a team of exceptional people
