Full Job Description
Alcon is seeking a mid-level transactional lawyer to join Alcon as a Senior Manager, Legal Counsel - U.S. Manufacturing to serve as the primary legal partner supporting Alcon's Manufacturing & Technical Operations (MTO) sites across the United States. This highly autonomous, business-savvy legal leader will provide day-to-day legal support for regional manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, quality, and operations teams. The role works closely with the Global MTO Legal Head to ensure aligned global strategy, consistent risk management, and operational excellence across jurisdictions.

You will operate across Alcon's sites in several U.S. states, managing complex commercial matters, advising on supplier disputes, handling regional regulatory issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support Alcon's operational and strategic initiatives at our Fort Worth, TX location. In this role, a typical day will include:
  • Provide primary legal support for U.S. MTO operations, including its manufacturing sites, procurement teams and quality and technical functions. Draft, negotiate, and manage regional commercial agreements (supply, manufacturing, quality, service, technology transfer).
  • Lead legal management of supplier issues including performance challenges, risk assessments, disputes, and escalation strategies in partnership with the Global MTO Legal Head.
  • Support site operational needs such as manufacturing-related leases, facilities agreements, equipment procurement, engineering, and automation initiatives.
  • Serve as a key legal partner across functions including Procurement, Quality, Operations, Regulatory, Compliance, HR, Tax, Finance, and global legal teams to ensure consistent global standards and strategic alignment.
  • Advise on compliance and regulatory matters related to manufacturing (anti-bribery, third-party due diligence, privacy, HSE). Coordinate with external counsel on contractual and local matters.
  • Manage or support litigation, investigations, and regulatory inquiries affecting U.S.-based operations in partnership with the Global MTO Legal Head and global litigation teams.
  • Contribute to global and regional strategic initiatives, including footprint optimization, new product launches, supply resilience, process improvements, template harmonization, and knowledge-sharing.


WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +15 yrs; Assoc.+11 yrs; M.S.+4 yrs; PhD+3 yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
  • 7 Years of Relevant Experience


Preferred qualifications:
  • Law degree (JD) with excellent academic credentials and active legal license and bar admission in a U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Experience in commercial, manufacturing, supply chain, or regulatory law within a highly regulated environment.
  • Strong drafting and negotiation expertise with complex commercial, supply, technology-transfer, and manufacturing agreements.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing operations, supplier performance, or multijurisdictional operational activities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a collegial, fast-paced team environment
  • Proactive, solution-oriented approach to resolving issues
  • Excellent business judgment and strategic thinking
  • Comfort in advising and interacting with senior executives and business unit leaders
  • Agility in managing multiple projects in an efficient and timely manner
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, and attention to detail
  • collaboratively and effectively with cross-functional teams including Procurement, Quality, Operations, Regulatory, Compliance, HR, Tax, and Finance.
  • Familiarity with contract lifecycle management tools and global legal templates/processes.
  • Experience managing external counsel across multiple countries.
  • Active legal license or certification required to practice in the applicable jurisdiction.
