Job Description

The Space Division is seeking a Director of Growth & Strategy to lead strategic planning, market expansion, and both tactical and long-range growth initiatives across the organization. This role is a key member of the Space Division leadership team and will play a central role in shaping the future direction of the business.

The Director will drive market insight, portfolio strategy, and investment prioritization while partnering closely with Business Units, Program Management, Sales, Engineering, and Finance to ensure the Space Division remains aligned, competitive, and positioned for sustained growth in a rapidly evolving space market.

This role requires a combination of strategic vision, analytical rigor, and strong cross-functional leadership, with the ability to influence executive-level decision-making.

As the Director of Growth and Strategy, you will:

Strategic Leadership & Growth Planning
  • Develop and execute division-level growth strategies, ensuring a clear path for market expansion and long-term competitiveness.
  • Lead the annual strategic planning cycle, producing executive-level materials, long-range plan content, and strategic communications that support alignment across the Space Division.
  • Shape the division's strategic narrative and ensure consistent messaging across leadership teams.

Market Insight, Analysis & Portfolio Management
  • Lead market analysis, competitive intelligence, and portfolio planning, delivering structured insights that inform strategy and investment decisions.
  • Monitor industry trends, customer needs, budget environments, and technology developments to identify emerging opportunities and competitive risks.
  • Collaborate with engineering to support technology and capability roadmap development, ensuring alignment with future market needs.

Cross-Functional Alignment & Executive Influence
  • Partner with Business Units, Program Management, Sales, Engineering, and Finance to align strategic priorities with business plans, financial objectives, and customer commitments.
  • Facilitate cross-functional decision-making and drive alignment across complex technical and business environments.
  • Support leadership with executive-ready presentations, strategic briefs, portfolio updates, and investment recommendations.

Investment Prioritization & Opportunity Development
  • Guide investment prioritization, including B&P planning, capability development, and early opportunity shaping.
  • Support long-term opportunity development, positioning Moog for major programs, new markets, and transformational initiatives.
  • Lead scenario planning, strategic trade studies, and risk-opportunity assessments to enable informed decision-making.

External Engagement & Strategic Positioning
  • Engage with customers, partners, and industry stakeholders to understand their long-term needs and growth plans.
  • Represent the Space Division at conferences, forums, and industry events to strengthen Moog's presence and strategic positioning.

Performance Tracking & Governance
  • Define, track, and communicate key strategic metrics, including market share trends, growth target performance, pipeline health, and portfolio balance.
  • Lead strategic reviews and portfolio governance activities to ensure sustained focus on priority initiatives.


To be considered for this role, here's what you will need to bring with you:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, or a related discipline (MBA preferred)
  • 15+ years of experience in strategy, business development, market analysis, or related leadership roles
  • 5+ years in a strategic leadership role with responsibility for people leadership and business strategy
  • Strong background in the Space, Defense, or Aerospace sectors with understanding of customer communities, market trends, and competitive dynamics
  • Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional alignment and influence strategic decisions
  • Experience with portfolio planning, market modeling, forecasting, and investment prioritization
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to guide executive-level discussions and presentations
  • Strong analytical capability and comfort working in both structured and ambiguous strategic environments
  • Location can be at any Moog site or remote location would be considered
  • Travel is ~30% - 50%

Salary Range Transparency:
Buffalo, NY $225,000.00-$325,000.00 Annually
